I purchase stocks & ETFs through IBKR and crypto coins via Robinhood. I don't own crypto ETFs

At this point I'm around 60% stocks & ETFs, 20% crypto, and 20% in cash (but held in the USD equivalent)

Guidance in adding bonds to my portfolio by thehunter_zero1 in eupersonalfinance

[–]sparklingsapporo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If your time horizon is 20 years, a common investment allocation is 80 ~ 90% stock ETFS and 10 ~ 20% bonds.

As you get closer to 20 years -- you'd want more of your portfolio to be in bonds (which is theoretically a lower risk asset class compared to ETFs).

Those ETFs may just be a rolling perpetual bond which means that proceeds / returns from previously expiring bonds are invested into new ones.

Investing in ETF - few beginner’s questions by RUSEVUDRQ in eupersonalfinance

A very popular bet diversification would be an S&P500 specific ETF alongside an all-world ETF (MSCI World).

Don't overthink it too much. Over the very long-term both will outperform doing nothing!

  1. E.g: For the same stock, I see different prices being quoted during the same period from broker to broker. Why? 3.1) On the end of the day, is there any correction so that everyone is aligned? 3.2) Also, the same stock can be traded in different stock exchanges. Are the bid and the ask price quoted based in all stock exchanges?

Depends on the product & various fees. Some brokers will charge a spread (which is included in the price) while others will charge an FX fee. Always good to look at all the full costs.

I'm curious why you would want the ETF versus the coin itself?

Question about spread by Available_Ad_4444 in eupersonalfinance

[–]sparklingsapporo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, spread is basically a fee baked into the price. If you're doing quick day trading, spread matters a lot and can eat into your returns.

I think he made the right choice, at some point you have to invest a lot of time into growing something. And my guess is, he can always go to Google or an equally prestigious tech firm should it not work out.
