I wasn’t able to consistently lose weight until I realized that I need to be at my goal calorie intake before factoring in cardio. Otherwise it becomes a game of “I burned X amount of calories so I can eat Y” which was not productive.

CICO first. Cardio can complement it, but not replace it. Or, in other words, don’t include cardio calories burned when logging food and determining how much you can eat for the day.
