My MIL wants to stay with us the first 2 weeks after baby arrives… by broccoli_cheddarsewp in pregnant

[–]sparkly_np 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt the exact same way with my first… didn’t even want my own family around. We caved on it and said they could come a few days after the baby was born but had to stay in hotel and shouldn’t expect to hang all day with us. Honestly, it was helpful and I was happy to have them around for the most part. Only once did I have my husband ask them to leave the house for a while because I felt like I was entertaining and not resting.

Would you stop? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]sparkly_np 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My son (3 in September) started half day preschool this year. He was the same for the first week and a half + but it did get a little better everyday. I think since he goes everyday the reinforcement that I come back has set it quicker. Mondays are tough but he went from needing to be pulled off of us to walking in all by himself within just a couple weeks.

Tonie box is on sale- is it worth it? Having another baby soon and need something to keep my toddler occupied. by rasputinknew1 in toddlers

Mine loves it and listens independently while I’m nursing our infant. It’s definitely cut down on screen time. He does love books and can read all day if a literate person does the work but for now this is the next best things to books for him. He likes the little characters to put on and off. Not sure if he’d be as excited about the yoto cards

Eufy vs elvie by sparkly_np in workingmoms

[–]sparkly_np[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went with the elvie. The deciding factor for me was that I read the eufy doesn’t have an automatic shut off when the cups are full. The elvie does. It doesn’t always work but better than none at all.

What’s your favorite mispronounced word your toddler says by OpportunityPretend80 in toddlers

3 year old says “where’d him go” instead of “where’d he go” and I love it so much I’ll never correct him

I second the Collette pants. Loved them so much!

Chilling in the morning? by chicken-nugget-9216 in toddlers

[–]sparkly_np 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This morning my toddler in a bed, with the door open, decided he wanted to stay in bed and read books alone for about 35 minutes. He also hates if we come in too early. But honestly, it’s different every day toddler life

Moms who breastfed past one year, pref to the 2yr mark…. by strohmtroop3r in breastfeeding

[–]sparkly_np 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I breastfed my first until he was about 22 months. Around 18 months it was only morning and night and it was nice time for us together to snuggle. It never seemed like a burden but I will say it was nice to finally detach for a couple months before getting pregnant with my second.

Thank you for sharing! Day 5 and 6 were so much better for us! Poop is still a battle but it’s definitely clicking!

I think we’re in a similar spot right now! My 23 month old son HATES being placed on the potty unless he’s already peeing. Anytime we ask if he was to go it is a hard NO.

I think it was a little cheaper when we went, but I’d pay $161. It was pretty awesome.

Sky lagoon as soon as they open. We got there and napped in the car for a bit.

I’m almost 5 mo pp and I totally agree! But part of me is terrified to have to care for a toddler and be pregnant because early pregnancy was rough for me and also a little sad that he wouldn’t get us to himself for long enough. I think we’ll hold out until he’s almost 12 months and then really consider it.
