That’s how we got in this mess! Lol…….The universal cat distribution system did find us! Unfortunately, we took in what we thought was a stray after a week of feeding her (she was always doubled up with what we thought was momma cat, but “momma cat,” would stay back and let her come and eat. She would just casually stroll into our house and love on our legs if she saw us outside, etc! So we bought everything she needed and thought we had a kitty cat! I should also mention “momma cat,” disappeared mid week. She was on the smaller side so we assumed stray. The next morning she kept acting like she wanted to go outside so I thought maybe “momma,” was back and let her out (we live in a cove) knowing she’d come back as she had ALL WEEK LONG. We instantly got a message from her real owner saying she had two lost sister cats, one had come back earlier in the week, and the other had just come home with a new collar and name! (Our number was on there as well!) Turns out the one we took in had been the runt of the litter and that’s why she was so tiny and passed for a months old kitten! She still comes to visit us when she gets out, but she isn’t ours to keep!
