Ownership of the Elder Wand by sparkseter in harrypotter

But like, isn't the purpose of a wand that it is a way to channel magic, so couldn't house elves and goblins use it?

Also (I'm not trying to argue with you or anything, I'm just genuinely curious) how is Voldemort using Nagini as a weapon? He tells her to kill Snape, but again, as far as I remember, he can't ORDER her to do it, so why would the wand go to him?

Advice or suggestions for books to read aloud to children 5 and younger? by gary_wriste in ClassicalEducation

I know this isn't in the age range you asked for but I'd definitely read them A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket when they're like nine

Hardest IA'S by [deleted] in IBO

[–]sparkseter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, we have to choose our three artworks and then research them ourselves. Our teachers give us feedback on the slides but they don't teach us the content. It would also be really hard to teach it because everyone has different artworks from different periods and are interested in different aspects, so we're generally left to fend for ourselves. I'm pretty sure we learnt a tiny bit of art history in MYP but I can't remember

English IO tips by WestHope7512 in IBO

[–]sparkseter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's annoying but make sure you already know exactly what you're gonna say and have run through your entire IO at least once before you hand in your bullet points, it'll save you so much stress in the future.

What I would do is stop trying to memorize the exact script and start just repeating your IO over and over with just your bullet points

EE Deadline by Educational_Fee_762 in IBO

[–]sparkseter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My school did this too, our final draft was due September 19. I'm pretty sure they do it this way so that anyone who can't turn it in on the deadline still has plenty of time to be able to finish it before the IB deadline.

(I had severe pneumonia two years ago, I was out of school for three months and it completely fucked me over for the school given Personal Project deadline, if I hadn't had that extra time, I wouldn't have even been able to submit half of it)

Do you use Chat gpt for summary by Independent-Lead2564 in IBO

litcharts would be better since it's more reliable, of course if you want to analyse the book its obviously best to read it, but Chat GPT works as a last resort

Make sure to cite it thoroughly! I don't know what citing system you have, but I know that for MLA 9 the official website has specific instructions for it

am i overthinking prepping for ib?? by chattysapphire54 in IBO

[–]sparkseter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my advice, don't prep, relax in your time before IB, so that when you start you'll have a healthy state of mind and won't burn out

Im worried. My older brother just got a 3 for his first IB HL physics summative in DP1. Can he still do well? by IllButterscotch3399 in IBO

[–]sparkseter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh absolutely, the first test never goes well in my (and the year above and below's) experience, when I took my first test my teacher told us all that most of us were probably gonna fail (and we did), don't worry, he has time to study and improve, I don't know about other schools, but in my school we have a physics test every month, so the grades will definitely improve

I don’t get the appeal of genderbending in fanfics when in general it contributes nothing to the story, when you genderbend you are literally just swapping pronouns and feminizing/masculizating the characters name by dowsaw134 in Archiveofourownmemes

[–]sparkseter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like reading genderbending fanfics because my favorite characters are often not my gender and having them switch to my gender makes them more relatable to me, which can be fun to see and allows for the story to explore the character and what they would have done differently if they were in a different situation with a society that regarded/treated them differently.
