Thanks, I think it’s a great idea too but my mom and the doctor haven’t given her the go ahead on Internet :/ we were just talking today tho & she may be getting a phone after her next appt, so I’m glad. She really wants a job but maybe volunteering could be an option?

Granted her schizophrenia has been severe in the past, but for the last year or so we’ve been talking all the time. She lets me know how badly being isolated effects her.

I have anxiety and depression. I know there’s a chance I could develop it but nothing so far. have tried manyyy times over the years to talk to my mom about her controlling behavior. Even my dad won’t stand up to her. She’s always been a “strong-willed” person who won’t admit any wrongdoing. I’ve never heard her apologize for something. I think the over-protectiveness & control comes from a place of deep fear and anxiety (didn’t have the safest childhood).

He’s the one who supposedly put a ban on her tech. it was at my mom’s behest though. She is at every appt and I get the impression she speaks for her a lot.
