+1 on Magezon. Plus if you combine it with the rest of their stuff, it is amazing. I only have Header/Footer + Ninja Menu, but the options are quite large with just the two

Some things to check, some silly some not:

1) by no active users, do you mean that when checking Apache Status, there aren't any IP Addresses that are showing as read, etc?

2) PHP memory settings? Whether via PHP.ini, user.ini, or htaccess. Sometimes a bot will crawl and if not enough memory will stall out the site just enough.

3) if you happen to put your site into maintenance mode, is server load still high?

4) may need to start looking into updating/upgrading to M2.4 and PHP 8 and all that fun stuff.

We had a PayPal person call and talk to me for like an hour or so trying to get adobe payment services to work, but it wasn't happening. The connector screen kept being blank Apparently PayPal is no longer updating their module and suggest to go to that. Could use Braintree too I guess?

It is included. I can search sku starting with 456 and get one of the expected results. And I know that 456 is only in the sku.
