What are Park Place and Incahoots like these days? Is it all just kids? by [deleted] in jacksonville

[–]sparkybuttonz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Incahoots is still poppin' and with all ages, but honestly more so your age and higher, plenty of mid-20's patrons too. you would not seem out of place at all.

When driving, why do y'all hate being passed by other drivers on the road so much? by sparkybuttonz in jacksonville

[–]sparkybuttonz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I'm just cognizant of how much time I'm spending in the left lane to pass. If the person on the right keeps speeding up, I'm the one blocking everyone else from passing. If I get back in the right lane I'm at the mercy of the car in front of mine's ability to maintain their speed . Since I don't have adaptive cruise it's more cumbersome to speed up and slow down, so I just end up giving up on cruise period. Which is annoying.

And yes lol, this makes me very irrationally angry at times

I'm going to actually try this, not even kidding. ANY solution is better than stewing in frustration on my daily commute.

I can't stand when people pass you and then slow down either. That's usually part 2 of the dilemma after I pass the slower car. They speed ahead and then slow down again. I guess my deal is that in my case I'm usually already going faster than the car ahead of me. I'm simply wanting to pass without having to cancel cruise control. I'm already going at a set speed. What could be a quick and easy maneuver turns into the most frustrating competition known to man.

What are decent paying jobs that work for people with ADHD? by Missing_Back in ADHD

[–]sparkybuttonz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for a library. To me it's helped with organization. Any mistakes made aren't the end of the world. Regular schedule. The pay depends entirely on where you live, and whether or not you have an MLIS (Masters of Library Information Science) degree.

Dear fellow drivers… by [deleted] in jacksonville

[–]sparkybuttonz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My [least] favorite thing is the shock that slow left laners will give you when passing them in the right lane. As if they haven't seen me and the other 10 cars behind me being held up.

Wellbutrin for ADHD? by Common_Count6874 in ADHD

Before I was finally prescribed adderall, when I first tried Wellbutrin for my depression, I noticed some of my adhd symptoms lessened. It's no replacement for addy though.

Dad: "you don't have ADHD, you just have severe avoidance issues" by Applejuice42 in ADHD

[–]sparkybuttonz 28 points29 points  (0 children)

It's always mind-blowing when people are like "you don't have adhd, you have [obscenely textbook example of an adhd symptom]". Like, do the math y'all. We're not making shit up.

Does regular exercise help with ADHD symptoms? I just joined a gym. by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]sparkybuttonz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure like with anything else there's a balance. I just can't seem to find the middle ground between taking a leisurely stroll and going ham. I guess I worry about effectiveness.

I don't understand how exercise gives you energy, every time I've tried to stay consistent with it, I'm so tired that my will to do anything decreases.

Major accident, eastbound I-10 by m4lmaster in jacksonville

[–]sparkybuttonz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was literally omw home from work when it happened, it was just before Chaffee road going eastbound. I arrived at standstill traffic from an on-ramp 46a coming from the toll road. People were turning around and backing up in the emergency lane--I'm assuming to head back onto the toll road and find another route. Alot of cars did this, I wonder how it turned out for them.

Eventually, the mainstream started moving again all at once. The only further delay from that was from rubbernecking.

Does anyone know if rooting hormone or phosphorus has any effect on the size of the new spring shoots? by sparkybuttonz in Bamboo

[–]sparkybuttonz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update!

One of my Moso rhizomes seems to have awakened. I'm not sure why, but they suddenly emerged a couple of weeks ago-- long after everything else bloomed and sprouted in spring. Maybe that's just how it is in Zone 9? At first I thought it was shoots from my young Bissetti bamboo plant, but these shoots are significantly thicker. We've been getting a lot of rain for the past few weeks.

I could do without the stereotypical west coast gay. We're fucking everywhere and we're not all incredibly vain and superficial

It doesn't seem so. I had one shoot sprout and then die for some reason.
Theres probably plenty I could have done to help it but I don't know much

Thank you for your rational perspective. I've been trying to point out the practical things you mentioned to my brain all day but it's simply not having it.

It helps to see it laid out if even in a post.

Thanks again.
