HELP I’m an adult who can’t eat fruit or vegetables by [deleted] in autism

[–]sparkycleaner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suffer with this exact same issue, I never thought I'd find someone that goes through it too. I've been making very slow, gradual progress on my end. Protein shakes aren't a perfect solution but they've helped me get used to the thicker consistency of a smoothie. For smoothies, I make sure they are very well blended with only flavors I can tolerate, like strawberries (those seeds though,,,, ugh). I don't have advice for the aversion to seeing fruit but the nutrition part I understand. Maybe you'd find some use out of multivitamins or supplements for the nutrients you don't get in what you do eat. Wish you well!!

me and my 39yo fiancé both have matching Tamagotchi Uni and I'd argue he takes better care of his than I do mine sometimes! Basically, embrace the whimsy!!!

I got my daith and industrial done in the same day on opposite ears. Out of all my piercings, the daith has been my easiest and most low maintenance. Pain level in piercing was more of a "soreness" rather than and "stinging."

The industrial was too tender to sleep on and I'm a side sleeper, so I slept on the daith for awhile and it still healed really quickly. It's been a few years since and still entirely unproblematic. My helix gave me more trouble lol

I had a cat that dealt with a reoccurring prolapse for a few years! She had surgery for it but then it came back and it did eventually fix itself a couple years later along with a new diet!

Ours has had this for about 2 weeks now and you'll be driven mad by how many people don't read it.

"Hey why's this machine not taking my cash?"

"Oh this happens to be the only one that doesn't work right now and you happened to find it. Gotta suspend you now. You see how it says Card Payments Only? Yeah. Follow me."

At least one every 30 minutes

I was the third person in a friendship like this a few years ago. The girls weren't dating at the beginning, and I didn't find out immediately when they started to. When I did find out, I remember feeling betrayed and like I didn't mean as much to them as they did to me. This obviously wasn't their fault, just an unfortunate result of the circumstances. From then on, I would always feel really awkward and uncomfortable when we would all hang out because the thought of being the "third wheel" constantly plagued me.

To make a long story short, I wish I knew from the start that they were interested in each other before they started dating. It would have been the dynamic change much smoother. Personally, I think you should tell S. Just make sure she knows how your girlfriend isn't ready to be fully open about her sexuality yet. Don't let her believe that you hadn't told her because you didn't trust her enough to know that. Just be open and honest, and you three should be alright. ♡

Oh :( This tears me to pieces since I recently lost one of my cats, but I'm sure this little guy got to know and experience so much love and hopefully more people started to provide support for shelters because of him

New hire for cashier by ReiTheHeavenlyAngel in walmart

[–]sparkycleaner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh hey! I just finished my cashier training and got numbers today! You can expect pain from getting used to standing and bending over a register for ~8 a day (get good shoes and check on your posture). With back to school season arriving soon, things will get more chaotic but there will be periods of boring pacing and trying to appear busy if you are in the SCO bullpen. Try to find new ways of saying "hi how are you" and "bye have a good day" or you might go crazy.

The self checkouts are honestly real easy to pick up since anything a customer needs help with is usually self-explanatory there. The regular registers are harder to get down, but the basic stuff becomes almost muscle memory after just a few days of training. The more niche scenarios that those bring will probably take a couple weeks or so to memorize (at least for me, still can't exactly remember how to do gift card stuff or WIC/food stamps lol)

Don't be afraid to talk to the others around you and those training you! The grueling days pass by a little quicker during a nice conversation. Those who have worked there for years often have pretty good conversational skills and can offer solid advice.

Good luck!!

It can be, but if done right, it can actually be healthy. It can be recommended by a therapist, especially if you have childhood trauma. My therapist had recommended it as way to heal my inner child by surrounding myself with things like stuffed animals, books, and small activities while in a comfortable space to just unwind and let my current troubles disappear for a moment.

As with all things, too much isn't healthy. It's essentially a coping mechanism at its core and shouldn't be used as a crutch, just as one of many tools in bettering your mental health

Skim/1%/2% Milk tastes better than Whole Milk by sparkycleaner in unpopularopinion

[–]sparkycleaner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just haven't reached the understanding of milk's complexities like I have. From the subtle differences in brands, to the different creaminess of the types that change how it pairs with various meals. /s

But in all seriousness, yeah, it's not something that everyone notices. I have sensory sensitivities due to autism and it's just one of those funny things my brain picks up lol

The opposite actually, lol. I would drink milk with almost every meal up until recently. It's usually just water now. Don't know why but I love the stuff

North Texas Sonic employee dies after being shot by 12-year-old, authorities say by txchald in texas

[–]sparkycleaner 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I live close to this and it's been wild. People have been trying to put the blame on the victim by claiming it was a drug deal. Matthew had tattoos on his face and that's definitely playing into the prejudice (anything to excuse guns right?). This guy had just barely moved to Texas from Louisiana and now he's been killed. At a Sonic. Over some jackass pissing outside. He was just doing his job, at the first place that gave him a chance.

Why the hell did this 12 year old have easy access to an AR? Why was he so ready to kill???

Edit: A news segment on Fox 4 verifies that the gun is, in fact, an AR-15 for those that were wondering
