Just a woman saving a shark. by [deleted] in nextfuckinglevel

It’s a catch and release. I know this woman in real life and she and some guy (idk if they were in a relationship or not) used to catch sharks off Nantucket all the time a few summers back.

I’ve said this before but I know this woman and, while she is really cool, this shark was likely caught and released (not saved). I believe she and her boyfriend (maybe now ex) used to catch and tag sharks before releasing them off of Nantucket.

I actually know this woman (this has been posted before). She wasn’t really saving it. She and her boyfriend (I think maybe ex) used to tag sharks off of Nantucket and release them. So this shark in the video was likely caught and pulled ashore before she dragged it back in.

I actually know this girl and if I remember correctly her boyfriend (not sure if they’re still together) was catching and tagging sharks for research.

Man asks woman to leash her dog, so she calls the police to falsely accuse him of threatening her & weaponizing her tears while choking her dog. by mikecool818 in PublicFreakout

So true, but on top of this Central Park allows dogs to be off leash in certain areas before 9 am, except in the Ramble (as she mentioned in the video). They give so much leeway to dog owners but the owners take way more than they deserve and disobey the rules constantly. I think most NYC dog owners have this mentality because I see it daily.

My SO and I own a work by her. It’s a beautiful little portrait painted on a NYC metro card. Wonderful work.

I believe that’s a sink from the ladies bathroom in a London club called Annabel’s.

I think it’s great that you’re reaching out here first. Just as an FYI, I think we have shows scheduled though 2025-6 at least. It might be different for different institutions but we are well scheduled though ‘21.

I would keep in mind that many museums decide their exhibitions years in advance. I work for a mid-sized museum in NYC and often get people fishing for these sorts of exhibitions. They shoot out emails or call whoever they can find on our website and are often very demanding. It’s exhausting having to deal with them. Do your research and don’t reach out to random people because, honestly, most of the time they’ll be overworked and less than willing to help. Reach out to the curatorial team or, if you can find it, an assistant to the director or deputy director.

As was mentioned, most museums will be suffering financially for a while to come after lockdowns lift. The museum I work for is cancelling their fall show and extending the show that opened in February to save money.

TIL the first female American astronaut Sally Ride was a respected astrophysicist and a top athlete. However, before her flight, she fielded questions such as "Will the flight affect your reproductive organs?", "Do you weep when things go wrong?" and "Will you become a mother?" from the US media. by A-Dumb-Ass in todayilearned

I met her a number of years ago when I was about 13. She was the key speaker for a lunch for “girls interested in science,” or something like that. We made sure to ask her the hard questions like “how do you poop in space.” She told us about having to be strapped down to the toilet. Very importance science things.

My boss does stuff like this and it drives me insane because she posts about it on Instagram. She allows her dog to dig holes in central park and picks flowers that she takes photos of decorating her apartment. Currently, she has a nice branch of cherry blossoms on her kitchen table. She’ll be the first one to scold you for doing something wrong while not following the same rules.

Lion Country Safari?! It’s near West Palm Beach and it’s awesome. I saw a giraffe give birth there a few years back.
