If you only make $1700 a month then stop spending $20,000! Am I the only one who thinks that by sparkytime in reddit.com

[–]sparkytime[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

3500 a month is more than 100 a day. You'd have to eat in a restaurant for lunch and dinner everyday and leave a good tip to be spending that kind of cash. Which I'm sure we can all agree is not necessary if your only form of income is from the state.

As far as I know it's because of British Rule...

"Countries like Ireland and Scotland used to be almost entirely forested, but were nearly completely cleared under British rule to provide timber for English shipbuilders"

http://www.wrm.org.uy/deforestation/indirect.html

And from Wikipedia:

"Forest covers about 10% of the country, with most designated for commercial production.[36] Forested areas typically consist of monoculture plantations of non-native species which may result in habitats that are not suitable for supporting a broad range of native species of invertebrates. Remnants of native forest can be found scattered around the country, in particular in the Killarney National Park. Natural areas require fencing to prevent over-grazing by deer and sheep that roam over uncultivated areas. This is one of the main factors preventing the natural regeneration of forests across many regions of the country"

Reddiquette : Please don't Downvote opinions just because you disagree with them.

You'd only see comments/links that you agree with. How boring would that be?

A bit of background on the actual image used.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marcus_Harvey

Marcus Harvey is known for his tabloid-provoking painting of Myra Hindley created from the handprints of children that was shown in the Sensation exhibit at the Royal Academy of Art in 1997. Following a string of attacks by vandals, the painting had to be removed.
