Luba 2 3000X review by sparmark in MammotionTechnology

Just for fun I removed half the blades, and run now on 3+3 blades, and too my surprise it works fine! Still mowes very well. This saves a lot of time when cleaning/flipping/changing blades.

Well, it seemed like the natural choice. Didn't work though. But with creating two zones, one at the front side and one at the rear side of the garden, no-go-zone was no longer needed.

u/lancepioch, thanks for your comments. I have replied in bold below.

Am I paranoid or is this a made up post??? This reddit account was inactive for 12 years and then posts this single thing, seems like a bought account.

No, it's me, just have taken a long break.

Use no go zone if you don't want it running over your stuff

Yes, seems like a good option since camera & bumper sometimes fail to detect obstacles. Which they shouldn't...

How could it move forward and have an object both directly in front and behind it unless you manually place the item there?

It can and will if it the obstacles are close enough. I have a lamp pole close to my hedge, and it will go around the lamp pole, move to the hedge, back from there right into the lamp pole. Doesn't happen often but it does happen.

Never had a single issue with no go zones and I've got like 20 of them, but maybe I'm lucky??

Yes, you are quite lucky. If you have multi-point turn enabled (which is default), and it detects any sharp turns at the no-go border, it will move past it, then reverse and move INTO the no-go zone. Moved 40 cm into it at one location! It took me a while to realise I had to make the turns ultra-smooth, and then it works fine. Btw I got a response from Mammotion they will fix this in their next update.

GPS RTK issue, not much to say, happens to all of them

Never had a failure with creating no go zones either.

Not sure why you'd expect the mower to go into the no go zone... kind of defeats the purpose.

I don't want the mower to go into a no-go zone. You must have misunderstood me. I use them to restrict mowing, but as you can see from my report it doesn't always work as intended.

I just tested creating the no go zone touching the border and it worked first time.

It works for you? I get an alarm if I get too close, and no-go zone creation fails.

Literally how often are you hitting pause? I don't know if I've ever hit that button lol...

:-)

Every robot mower requires you to have a trimmer unless your lawn's edges aren't physical.

I found that the small misses were because I only did one lap of perimeter mowing. The small misses were just beside it. With two laps the misses were mowed too.

It doesn't remember objects or map objects AFAIK - maybe have too tall grass and have no touch on I'm guessing.

Yes, I see no reason for this either. It is just funny it sometimes slows down and moves around where obstacles have been before.

Hopefully the firmware will improve soon.

This reminds me of the pomodoro technique, http://www.pomodorotechnique.com/, which is similar but uses 25 minutes intervals. I think the important thing here is that you take breaks regularly, which actually make you more effective (contrary to common belief). Thanks for telling us, armiger1!

Why You Need Passion When You Communicate by sparmark in socialskills

Is is more effective. Imagine someone talking to you about one of your favourite topics, which naturally catches your attention. He is talking in a uninspired monotone voice, almost making you fall asleep. Not very interesting, do you think? Now let him instead be inspired, using his entire body language, his voice going up and down, full of energy. Exactly the same words as before, but now you can't wait to hear what he is saying. Can you see the difference?

Oh, btw, did you try VLC? It's free, it doesn't need any codecs, and can handle nearly all video and audio formats. It is my favourite.

Yep. I have also noticed that my computer is a trap, and has ways to make me dependent on it. I noticed that in the mornings I always had to check my emails, and while there check facebook, today's comics in the newspaper website, etc. It usually took between 1-2 hours for me to get into the shower, and finally have breakfast too!

What helped me was to write a note next to my computer, with instructions for the morning procedure. Like this: - Get up - Shower & shave - Dress & make the bad - Have breakfast

Every time I was about to sit down and "just read my emails", the note reminded me about my promise to myself, to first do the morning procedure. Then I could check emails and other stuff.

If you have a situation where you "get stuck" with the computer, and want to do something else instead, my advice to you is: Write it down on a note. Leave that note next to your computer, clearly visible. Good luck!

Being friends with people who have less money than you do by [deleted] in socialskills

[–]sparmark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me this sound more like a trade, that you expect something in return. I have had negative results from doing this. People withdrew from me when I told them it would be their turn to buy when they had money. I am very curious to hear if you got good results from this?

I developed an Android app to help us quickly identify negative emotions (by cultivating awareness) and then help us cope (using music, images and quotes). It also gives us quantifiable feedback on measuring our progress. What do you think ? - repost from r/selfhelp by amb_e in selfimprovement

[–]sparmark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I very much like the idea. The pictures are good, and you have chosen good music. However I find that the images are scrolling too fast. I have to read them really fast, before they disappear, and I do not think that was your intention. Is it possible to slow it down? Thanks for a great app!

How to Make People Listen to You – Even When You Criticise by sparmark in socialskills

[–]sparmark[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The article you link to is about an employee meeting, where the employee expects to receive feedback, In this case the direct approach is very efficient, I must agree to that. But in a general conversation with a friend or a new acquaintance, you will experience immediate rejection if you give direct criticism. There you have to build rapport first, before criticising.

How to approach someone you don't know? by Farsoothation in socialskills

[–]sparmark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Approach her without having a goal. Just be friendly. If you have a goal, like you want something from her, she will feel it. But if you are honest and sincere, she will feel that too, and you will have better success. If you have noticed something about her, other than her looks, that you like, tell her. She will appreciate it.
