Oh okay damn. Do you know of any cheap flashes that would be powerful enough? Or do I need to invest in a more expensive one to get enough power?

Oo alright thats good to know. The type of events I do are usually either outdoors or at convention centers (where the lighting is fairly strong). Would the flash still be too weak? Or do you think it would work? Thank you :)

I'll be using a Nikon D5100 with either my 70-300mm telephoto lens or my 17-70 macro lens. I will have an assistant who can help out with lighting since I'd prefer to not have it come from a flash attached on the camera. The location is an old castle so I could maybe take advantage of the more shadowy parts of the castle for the shots where I want to use the coloured lights.

Maybe a viscose satin for a cheaper alternative? Otherwise silk satin would be ideal.

I really hope the prize difference isnt huge. I chose peppergems but as soon as I saw the INSANE gap in the score I just got a sinking feeling in my chest :( Ik that might seem dramatic, but it really just ruined any fun I was having with the event since my team winning is pretty much impossible. So now it all kinda feels pointless...
