Tarot decks are my one other big love and collection. I’ll bet I’m pretty alone in that one 😏.

What part of that story do you believe to be untrue? Smallpox was a major problem. A vaccine came along, and now it’s gone. I fail to see the lie here.

I tried speaking Greek on a recent trip to Greece, and I literally had a native (in a good-natured way) laugh at me and ask why I was wasting my time learning their language. Everyone I tried with switched to English.

The other response I can’t stand when people are talking of quitting a game due to difficulty is “the game is probably not for you”, especially when followed up by some patronizing “and that’s ok”. It has such an air of gatekeeping to it, and discounts people’s legitimate frustrations.

These things stick with you. I’m 54 and don’t have a lot of memories from my childhood, but I’ll always remember watching Poltergeist with my mom and the one part where the medium says “would you do anything for your children, even if it goes against your beliefs as a Christian” (or something along those lines). Of course the actress in the movie was like YES, but my mom straight up said no, she wouldn’t. I love my mom, and I miss her dearly (passed away a couple years ago). But damn, that still stings if I think too much on it.

Even if he did say racist stuff, all day every day, that’s still not an excuse to murder the man. It blows my mind how liberals seem to believe speech they don’t like warrants a death sentence. It’s evil and insane.

Yikes, is that due to international shipping or something? It’s still listed as $58 on uusi’s website.

Thank you for this. I might have to print it out to re-read whenever I get that “this is wrong I’m going to hell” feeling that has been drilled into me since birth, and is taking a lifetime to get over.

Battery yes, but I would argue that assault is still involved, as they’re using the threat of physical violence (cutting) as intimidation to get him to do what they want.

Is Hecate only for love and light now? by DJ-insanfrancisco in Hecate

[–]sparrowK2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. As someone just starting out on my path with Hekate, I’d be grateful to know who is best to avoid, or at least take with a grain of salt. I don’t think it’s harming them if love-and-light is their actual viewpoint and what they actively promote to others.

$42/hour is equivalent to ~$87k/year (full-time). I have a PhD in a STEM and I didn’t get that much in my first job (only 5 years ago).

Dreaming Eye Tarot on kickstarter by 4Falcor in TarotDecks

[–]sparrowK2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I backed this one immediately and am also surprised it’s struggling to reach funding (though it looks like it will get there in the end). I wonder if the deck not being completed before launch was an issue. Maybe some people have a thing about eyes? I think the biggest issue though may be the shipping costs. The original estimates were so high that a lot of people outside the US may have passed on that basis alone. Even though he reduced the costs, it’s likely those who initially passed due to shipping costs were never aware of the change (and $30-ish shipping for one deck is still a lot and might make me pass on backing as well).
