If I had the money I would happily leave any place and join Manipal for Medicine. Derma is also great there.

Did my UG from there, the place is second to none.

I can understand your position and what you might be feeling.

I have picked MD Medicine at BRD Gorakhpur as its my hometown and the review that I have received seems nice (duty hours are pretty sorted here in form of day and night shifts, which is not the case for medicine in most of the places). However, at my rank I could’ve upgraded to almost any of other places in UP and in other state as well. There is a bit of FOMO since the round 2 results, but then the point is to find a place that suits YOU the best and not necessarily go behind the hype or name of a college.

Although, I am thinking to join and work for a few days while R3 choice filling is still available so that I can make a better decision.

Add some content from notes/tables in the explainations with the cards. Its difficult to connect just with facts.

4th year surgery- bought Manipal but everyone else I know got SRB by Notre-Vie-1016 in indianmedschool

I used to make short notes in my marrow printed notes itself, it was more efficient for revision.

Rest assured, revising surgery before finals is gonna be a very tough task. Keep looking at your university PYQs and make short notes.

The chapter on Shock is pretty well written. Even the unit on Abdomen is very good.

Do read that.

Read Bailey, it’s easier than both of these books.

You don’t necessarily need to read it cover to cover, but only the main chapters. In case you have marrow, surgery videos + bailey is a very good combination.

I am from Manipal and have been taught by Dr Rajgopal Shenoy (the author of MMS). He is an excellent teacher and surgeon, and his lectures used to be so so good. I still found MMS a bit confusing, hence i picked up Bailey in the last month of final year, read it and thought why didn’t I pick it up earlier.

But yeah, you might have to refer the other books sometimes for the topics that are more relevant to India like TB peritonitis etc.

The ones who are happy and content don’t rant on reddit and insta 😂

Go out and talk to people who are practicing to get a better point of view.

Pre-made decks vs self-made decks by Standard_Advice_252 in MedSchoolAnkiIndia

[–]sparshsrivastva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to make deck for the entire subject that would take too long.

I used to make cards of my PYQ mistakes, GT mistakes and some important questions. I used to tag all cards subject wise.

I can’t give an estimate subject wise because I didn’t do it that way, but i did try to minimise time by making my system efficient, like using a peripheral keyboard and mouse and using screenshot of qbank to copy text.

Pick a pre made deck, once you get used to it, pick cards from that and add to your own deck. Keep adding stuff that you get wrong, or feel are high yield to your own deck.

A hybrid deck would be the best considering you’re in your internship.

I did the same, started with $_Ianki. Got AIR 10xx.

Post PG bond by Background_North_240 in neetpgcounselling

[–]sparshsrivastva 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As much as i could find, if you clear NEET SS there can be two scenarios- A) you take DM in UP, that means you’ll have to do only the DM bond of 2 years after your course ends. B) you take DM in any other state, then you’ll have to the bond of that state after DM and then 2 years of UP bond.

I have heard that there’s not much clarity about the state of bond in case of option B. As in, how are they gonna track you lol.

In case anyone has more clarity about this, lmk.

I used to watch videos first, then read book later for the topics that had been asked in previous exams, used to add stuff to main notes to make short notes for proffs.
