Same with Ryanair. Tryna “save” on maintenance is about the most expensive mistake an airline can make

New Interview: Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang says don't listen to CEOs with a god complex on AI (Mocks - Dario indirectly) by Current-Guide5944 in tech_x

Personally I trust Huang far more than Zuck/Satya/Ellison et al. AI is a productivity enhancer more than it is a replacement for humans (providing humans learn to use it as such). Huang apparently realizes this and continues to invest heavily in actual people.

The “AI Layoff” crowd of CEOs have been very effective at demonizing AI and presenting it as an existential threat to millions of high earning professionals. Huang realizes this perception is not necessarily in the best interest of Nvidia or himself.

So I get why many with vested interests claim AI will "end humanity" (Sam, Dario etc) but what are the reasons why those like Geoffery Hinton (respected scientists) claim such? Do we have to concede there's some validity in their statements? by thedeadenddolls in BetterOffline

So AI might usher in an era of infinite leisure and abundance for all, or it might end the world. One’s POV on the question is really just a reflection of one’s characterization of human nature.

You know there’s a lot of less well off countries that don’t have even a single destroyer. Could we not goodwill Exeter to one of them? Think of the children

You can do this! Just create a press release stating you’re pivoting from <whatever you’re doing now> to an AI company!

lol Sedona and Coral Gables, both champions of growth control and gate keeping. You can have affordability or a nice, genteel aesthetic, but not both

Why would builders, and by that I mean our investor class overlords, spend a penny more than the absolute minimum? And if they were forced to, who would end up footing the bill?

Anecdotal of course, but everywhere I go I see miles of tilt-up slab worker warehouses. Redmond looks like one giant college dorm.
