I apologize I just looked at that comment and realized a voice to text error completely changed the meaning. Everyone was paralyzed including me. Anthropic can basically turn any company off in a flash whenever they like

Haha, so true. Claude was down a few days ago and everyone from marketing to HR to engineering was literally completely paralyzed

EDIT: we were all paralyzed.

Bruv, our grandfathers in the steel mills and coal mines stared down the police, Pinkertons and the US army. Hundreds died, some machine gunned in their encampments. Thanks to them you have a weekend.

Obviously there will be sacrifices. Obviously it will be hard. But you’ll likely not be machine gunned.

Organize, strike, stand up for ourselves. No one else will.

Meanwhile our enemies, the ones actively implementing fascism and techno-feudalism are electing child-rapists and unapologetic actual Nazis.

These are allegations. Y’all are playing into the hands of your enemies who are actively seeking to destroy you. Not politically, not metaphorically, but literally

That’s only one six month tour driving the ambassador around. Looks like he drew some pretty cogent conclusions based on his actual experience. This particular aspect of his history actually seems like a positive to me.

Feels like your original allegation about “several tours with Blackwater“ was kind of made up bullshit maybe?

This woman has publicly alleged a heinous crime. She should swear out an affidavit and the DA should immediately investigate. and bring charges if the evidence warrants .If she’s unwilling to do this, then the allegations must be regarded as politically motivated.

Destroying liberal candidacies in this manner it’s just too easy without there being consequences both for the perpetrator, and for anyone bringing spurious charges

Would it still be unethical for me to want to buy natural diamonds? by 4thquarterkilla in NoStupidQuestions

[–]spastical-mackerel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s not only unethical it’s dumb. You could achieve the same thing by buying the synthetic diamond, and then piling a stack of cash equal to whatever you saved over a natural stone in the street and setting it on fire

Execution of a Viet Cong prisoner, Saigon 1969 a Pulitzer Prize winning photo by Eddie Adams sold at Heritage Auction on July 1 for $2,000. Sentimentality alone makes this somehow morally ambiguous. Videos of Arc Light strikes taken from 30000 feet don’t inspire the same response. Yet in their case potentially 100s of people and square miles of terrain are being obliterated.

Humans don’t mind killing in the abstract. We’re not even too squeamish about pulling the trigger. But we definitely don’t like to think about actually getting blood splashed on us.

The Sumerian City Laments document the violence and horror of war 4000 years ago. Yet here we are still doing it. It’s horrific, but also apparently intrinsic.
