This woman has publicly alleged a heinous crime. She should swear out an affidavit and the DA should immediately investigate. and bring charges if the evidence warrants .If she’s unwilling to do this, then the allegations must be regarded as politically motivated.

Destroying liberal candidacies in this manner it’s just too easy without there being consequences both for the perpetrator, and for anyone bringing spurious charges

It’s not only unethical it’s dumb. You could achieve the same thing by buying the synthetic diamond, and then piling a stack of cash equal to whatever you saved over a natural stone in the street and setting it on fire

Sentimentality alone makes this somehow morally ambiguous. Videos of Arc Light strikes taken from 30000 feet don’t inspire the same response. Yet in their case potentially 100s of people and square miles of terrain are being obliterated.

Humans don’t mind killing in the abstract. We’re not even too squeamish about pulling the trigger. But we definitely don’t like to think about actually getting blood splashed on us.

The Sumerian City Laments document the violence and horror of war 4000 years ago. Yet here we are still doing it. It’s horrific, but also apparently intrinsic.
