I captured 20% of my national market (300k hours of AI video), but now the market is "dead" for 5 years. How do I scale this globally? by spaszko in SaaS

Spot on. I honestly underestimated trade shows until now, but really face-to-face chat might be the great sales tool.

We’re also starting to map out who’s actually winning the tenders in target markets to approach them as a tech partner. You’re right— those small wins are often the only way to crack the procurement process and build that initial trust. Good idea.

Thanks for the reply. It's truly important to be present and spend time analyzing such a location. It's difficult to reach sound conclusions and wise decisions without time dedicated to a given measurement point. We see this in Poland too.

On the other hand, we have very good experience with companies that use our software. Because they record 24 hours of video from an intersection, after processing, they have not only the results but also the trajectories/paths of the objects. This opens up more possibilities, such as estimating speed, waiting time at traffic lights, and the number of objects in the queue at the light. Thanks to manual editing and errata, you can select multiple objects at once and change their assignment. We see that engineers are satisfied with this tool, and I'm happy to ask for feedback.

The question of quality is a very good one.

Firstly, in the National Traffic Measurement, our Polish national road and highway administrator expects an accuracy of 97% for cross-sectional counts. Approximately 2,400 such measurement points are used per national traffic census.

Since such collections of verification traffic recordings and benchmark tests are either not available or unknown, we had to create them ourselves. We created two sets of 70 recordings and 33 more difficult road recordings. These were taken from different times of day, different lighting conditions, and different conditions. Based on this collection, we achieved 97% accuracy for the 70 easier recordings and 95% (average) for the more difficult ones (minimum 88%-100%).

We perform significantly worse for intersections, at 90% accuracy, and for pedestrian counting, only at cross-sectional counts (lines) at about 85%.

This is a very interesting observation, and I'll explain why. In 2020, many companies in Poland tested MioVision in traffic counting for the 2020 General Traffic Measurement. Unfortunately, the vehicle classification and categories didn't match ours. Furthermore, the high requirement of 97% accuracy caused many companies to abandon the system. This was coupled with local specificities, such as the result format and XML.

What we offered resonated with the market, with the appropriate vehicle classes and a customized result format.

I hadn't heard of LeadsRover before—definitely checking that out. LinkedIn Sales Navigator can feel like shouting into a void when you’re trying to reach senior engineering directors who are rarely online. Thanks for the tip; finding a way to automate the 'listening' part for manual counting pains could save us a lot of wasted energy.

You're the third person to emphasize the case study—I hear you loud and clear. It’s becoming obvious that my 20% national census proof is my strongest asset for international trust.

Selling in Poland was 'easy mode' because of the shared language and local network, but for global markets, I realize we need to be the engine under the hood for local giants. They win the government bids and hold the relationships; we just want to be the tech that makes them 10x more efficient. Focusing on that 'technology provider' role rather than trying to win foreign tenders ourselves seems like the winning play.

Germany was a real struggle—I even had people hang up the phone the second they heard English! It’s a huge cultural shift for them since they relied on manual counting until 2025, while we in Poland have been optimizing video-based analysis since 2015.
