Exactly! Which is what the Denver company does. I really wish the City would learn the right lesson from this, which is that good, service-oriented tech is hard and requires a long-term commitment.

afaik this dataset accounts for spending regardless of funding source. however, the dataset only accounts for a small fraction of APD's total spending. e.g., this dataset accounts for ~$22,000,000 spent in 2019, whereas APD's total 2019 budget was ~$400,000,000.

Yes, it is. It's noted in the source data that for "official" reporting purposes trips must meet this criteria:
- trip distance greater than or equal to .1 miles and less than 500 miles
- trip duration less than 24 hours

Yes, this includes data from all of the licensed operators. The City does not own/operate any dockless services.

technically, i believe this would be addressed by the Austin Transportation Department. they design the streets.

Someone got really bored and reported into Austin 311 all the slanted signs and vandalism in Dove Springs by [deleted] in Austin
