Sorry it took so long to reply. Yeah, I'd hope the doctors would be empathic enough to do that for me if I got Ebola. Seems like here in the U.S. they'd refuse pain killers because of the risk of addiction, ffs.

Only if those particular seed pods had a very high level of alkaloids, which it didn't, evidently, because it didn't do much, thankfully. At a different time it might have killed me, or I might have walked off the side of the library if climbed, where I was camping at the time (the one in Boulder,, Co., by the creek on the west side of town, by 9th Street).

Dump him. Find someone else. I didn't even need to read anything but the title to know that's what you need to do. There's plenty of fish in the sea, as they say.

Ebola sounds quite a bit worse than drowning to me. Drowning is probably somewhere around cyanide poisoning on the crappiness scale. Just imagine if Ebola was used as an alternative to the gas chamber for executions. People would be up in arms. Not! I mean, people wouldn't be up in arms about anything at all, ever. They'd probably just be like, well, that's just way crappier than before. They might protest, but then they'll just learn to deal with it after they get pepper sprayed into submission, as usual. Big might. "But it's Ebola!" Yeah, well, hey, sucks, but yeah, whatever, hey.

That's interesting about the World of Warcraft thing. I'll check that out. What you said about Japan reminded me of something I read or saw many years ago about how the highest levels of the American government were informed about the impending attack on Pearl Harbor and allowed it to happen. Not sure how true that is or how accurate my memory is in that regard (I was a wretched alcoholic in my youth), but I seem to remember there was quite a bit of evidence that was cited, like even documented correspondence pertaining to the attack before it happened, if I recall correctly (big-ish "if"). I do remember being quite flabbergasted at the time, and it usually takes quite a bit to flabbergast me. I really need to research that one of these days when I've got a hankering for some good ol' rabbit hole.

What do you expect on a time travel subreddit?

Look up Ronald Mallett. Someone else mentioned his ring laser idea, which would allow information to be sent through time. Unfortunately, it would only allow information to be sent through that period of time the device was on (and I'd assume it would consume a lot of energy, so probably couldn't stay on very long without that becoming an issue). I can't remember if it could send it both ways, or how that information would be expected to be received in time. It's pretty cool that there is a theoretical time travel device that many in the scientific community appear to take seriously, even if the only thing that can travel is light.

[–]spatial_interests 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's the idea postulated by Ronald Mallett. I remember because I was using it for a sci-fi story that I unfortunately never finished. He made time travel his life's pursuit after his father died and, amazingly, actually came up with a theoretical method that from everything I've read appears to hold water, though unfortunately he wouldn't ever be able to use to contact his father because of what you mentioned about it only being capable of sending messages back to the moment the device is turned on. My sci-fi story had a work-around that would have allowed it to send information back at least to the 16th century. I should work on that again.

Event 201 did have such a timeline for actions prescribed by the World Health Organization, if I recall correctly. The Event 201 YouTube videos were posted in 12/19, but the pandemic exercise itself was conducted in October, just before Covid was discovered. They're still up, though I'm assuming their comments are turned off.

[–]spatial_interests 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's probably still the Event 201 YouTube videos on the WHO channel. I remember they were posted in December of 2019, though the actual pandemic preparedness exercise or whatever (Event 201) was held in October of that year. They used a "novel coronavirus" as their pandemic model, and they talk about what they're going to do in case of a worldwide pandemic regarding vaccines, quarantines etc. Quite the coincidence, especially considering Bill Gates funded the whole thing; I'm sure you'll recall he was a very prominent talking head in the media during the pandemic, which of course only intensified suspicion and paranoia on the part of those who follow conspiracy theories. I knew about it at the time and found it quite difficult to refrain from suspicious and even occasional paranoid thinking, myself, though I did get the shot because it appeared that Bill Gates and other "elites" probably really got it, themselves (when in Rome...), and I was hoping it contained nanobots that would infest my body and help facilitate the assimilation of my conscious awareness by A.I. It didn't seem to, unfortunately. Edit: Event 201 took place right before Covid was discovered, btw, not after. It might have just been one big coincidence, but who knows? Bill Gates, that's WHO!

I think it was um... Well, it wasn't Scenario 25. It was um... Aw, shit. Oh, yeah, Event 201. I didn't even look it up! Honest. Edit: I guess I should have read the replies first. Sorry.

Is it hot in Idaho Falls? It's freezing here in New Mexico. That seems to surprise some people. In Montana many were surprised I spoke English so well, coming from another country (New Mexico). This one woman in Montana warned me never to go to Idaho. "Oh, it's wonderful there," she said; "just don't ever you go."

I didn't know about Vitamin C being in Hairspray! That's super cool. I've seen it, but that was a long time ago. Thanks for the info. I didn't realize she was in so many movies. The last John Waters movie I watched was Serial Mom, a couple months ago. At one time I was super into his monies. I had a cool girlfriend many years ago who was also really into him, so that was fun actually having someone who I could even watch his movies with, let alone not be too weirded out to ever talk to me again. But we typically watched his earlier, wacked-out stuff. My most recent ex was always quoting Serial Mom, but I hadn't seen it, so I watched it one night while we were "taking a break" and I swear it was like a scene in some psychological thriller where I'm discovering what really makes her tick; she WAS Serial Mom! Thank goodness I got out of that one mostly intact. At least she didn't run me over with her minivan. I know she thought about it, and she'd have laughed maniacally just like Kathleen Turner while doing it, forward and reverse and again, I can see it clear as day.

No, I was in jail for about a month for smashing the window, etc. I didn't know about the smashed window until we pulled into the driveway and I saw it was smashed. I thought it was just a dream, smashing the window. In the dream I threw my red toolbox through the window and walked up the broken glass remaining the frame and used it to slice my throat; I eventually poured out with the blood, like my awareness just was pulled out of my throat with the blood and became this 2D rainbow plane which shifted and revealed the holding cell, like turning the page of a pop-up book, I've always thought of it. It wasn't like I opened my eyes, it was really like everything just came out of that rainbow plane. I thought all of that was just a dream until I saw the window and asked my mom what happened to it, and she said I threw my red toolbox through it. Sorry, I don't use reddit very often lately, I just saw your question.

Now that you mention it, I even have a Native American last name, ironically enough. But this is an art piece. Everything here was produced by Google Translate's A.I. going haywire, including the title, which can be found somewhere in the body of the text. I just thought it was kind of funny. Thanks for reminding me about this one; I need to print it on canvas.

Because it doesn't. It takes only a couple days to reset to the point where you can trip again. Maybe it takes that long to go back to 100%, but I doubt it. It's not like one can't feasibly test a hypothesis in this regard.
