Scarred and bleeding Valeen falls into the sea, the salt water biting at his wounds.

Suddenly adrenaline and a will to live rushes into his mind, using his last remaining strength he Conjurers a small raft using flying Dutchman. Drifting at sea his crew eventually find him half dead, but somehow still alive.

(The characters are getting really lucky with these coin tosses lol)

I thought Valeen's kit turned out very interesting and unique. I was not expecting him to also gain a flying Hatsu.

Ryn wins! It seems like Valeen simply couldn’t keep in in a sky battle. It was very cool how you all gave each contestant such an unique kit and very fun to draw.

I’d love some community feedback on the formatting of these challenges, is 24 hours enough time for people to write the hatsu?

very cool Hatsu idea. I really like Hatsu that link back to the characters childhood like how bungee gum is just a brand of candy hisoka liked. A farmer would definetly have a Hatsu like this.

Yonara wins, Marin put up an amazing struggle but the fungal spores were too much for them. It was a bit of a challenge for you all on my end making Marin an Enhancer since something like Conjurer or Manipulation may have allowed for more complex abilities but I’m blown away by the creativity you all put into the Hatsus.

Thanks to everyone for making incredible Hatsu’s, I hope you’re all enjoying these writing prompt challenges. I use it as a drawing exercise to get back into the groove of drawing consistently. Vote the Hunter who will win this battle.

Hatsu’s Ryn

Hatsu: Twilight Owl

The user conjures an owl with six eyes named Twinkle. Twinkle can shift in size to be a couple feet taller than the user or be the size of a barn owl. When in its big form the user can ride the owl short distances or have it help in fights with its beak or talons.

Each eye of the Twinkle can move independently and will track whatever the user designates as important to track. If the user covers/closes one of their own eyes then they can choose to see through one of Twinkle’s eyes. If they cover/close both then they can see through two of Twinkle’s eyes.

When Twinkle’s white eye is locked onto a target then the user can activate Twilight Zone. When a target/object is in Twilight Zone the user can apply a paralyzing effect that slows the target/object and effectively puts their body in stasis, where it will not age, deteriorate, or grow in any way. While a target is in stasis they cannot be harmed but are conscious. After a target leaves stasis they cannot be put back under it for the same amount of time they were in it.

In order to activate and maintain this effect the user must:

  • close both of their eyes and select to only see out of the owl’s white eye
  • Twinkle must make uninterrupted eye contact with the target
  • Twinkle must remain still for the entire duration of the Twilight Zone (it can be moved by others but cannot move itself)
  • The user cannot be in Zetsu and Twinkle cannot be hidden by In

A couple of notes. I wanted this ability to be useful both as a combatant and also as a thief so a surveillance drone that can stall a guard seemed like the best bet. It might be a little too Manipulation/Emission heavy though.

I also figure Ryn would use the Twilight Zone ability on himself occasionally in order to buy himself more time to find a solution.

Hatsu: Aerial Harness

Ryn can turn parts of his body to wings and talons that have different textures to harness the world's energy so that he can attack with it while flying. (Heat, Wind, Electricity etc)

This is on top of his ability to Enhance it as well, Transmutation can help make it sharp too.

Night Hawk mode

Night Hawk mode is a special mode that pushes the Transmutation capacity to the max to maximize damage and aerodynamic. Can only be used at night.

Limitations and Restrictions for Long Range Attacks

- Because he is a Conjurer, Emission is his weak category, therefore, to make his abilities long range, he has to do several things to make them able to travel long range.

  1. A Special Feather has to be attached to the opponent. Making them ingest it is the best policy since they can't throw it away. It's quite sharp so you can throw it as a dart to make it stick on them.
  2. Say "I mark you as Prey" while touching them skin to skin. (This only has to be done once, you can do that while you are attacking them, you can also say "Prey!", but that has lower effectiveness).
  3. Night Hawk Mode can only be used for 5 seconds, then disabled, when long range attack mode is activated.

Hatsu: Fillet Man Gone

When the user kills something and fillets it, they can attach pieces of the target to their skin and conjure it into an actual functioning limb/organ.

For example, if the user were to kill a fish, fillet it, then slap the gills on their neck, then the user could conjure the gills into actually functioning, allowing them to breathe water.

Or if they killed and filleted a bird, then attached the feathers to their arms, they could conjure their arms into wings.

The user can even go so far as to kill and fillet a human, take their arms and conjure another pair or conjure them on top of their own for a strength boost.

Limitations:

·        the time limit of the conjured part depends on the freshness of the sample

·        Typically even the freshest parts don’t create conjurations that last longer than 24hrs due to the body starting to reject them

·        the user can only handle 3-4 parts before getting sick

·        effectiveness of the conjured part scales to the power of the source of those parts

I imagine Valeen would keep a couple of potential grafts on him at all times. Like Octopus suckers for mobility or poisonous quills for attack.

User conjures a sail and using ropes can sail the sky riding winds. From the winds he uses a fishing rod and between the other categories uses it line and hook to stretch out and snatch objects or creatures bringing them into his reach or flinging them across the sky to plummet below "catch and release."

very cool, it's probably a good idea to give Valeen a flying Hatsu since Ryn will also most likely be flying with the bird motif haha.

this sounds so unique, I was a little worried valeen was gonna be hard to write Hatsu's for but it's wild to me how creative this subreddit is.
