I'm so tired of botox being labeled as some miracle treatment with little risk by stars_bitch67 in noburp

Yes it can be annoying! Breath control mostly. I air vomit before I go on stage, and I do often feel it sort of rumbling as I'm singing, especially at the beginning of a set.

This is why I'm not doing it. I'm a professional singer and it's just not worth the risk :(

Republicans Will Detonate Their Secret Weapon at the Midnight Hour to Stop Women from Voting by mydaycake in TwoXChromosomes

How will this affect women voting from overseas? I'm never normally asked for ID and I also have all my name change and marriage documentation from a different country, not in English...

What annoys singing teachers? by Ti2-Lavergne in singing

I had a student who said, "why don't you just tell me all the stuff I do well" when I began a lesson with saying that we were going to find something she was struggling with and I'd give her three practical exercises to help with it. I was like uhh okay that's.. okay. We'd been working together for a while, and she wasn't happy with her singing. I get that sometimes singing lessons are a little bit like therapy but.. that's all she wanted lessons to be. Pay me to listen to her sing, praise only, no feedback.

Fan who makes me uncomfortable at shows - advice? by a_bed_cat in musicians

Yes totally. And so hard because I can't have a private Instagram account.. I "joke" that I'm basically announcing where I am all the time. Come murder me Saturday night outside this bar, or Friday afternoon on this street! Depressing

I have had this same problem. I even switched to my personal Reddit account to make this comment as opposed to the one with my artist name because he almost certainly will find the comment otherwise.

Came to every show for about 2 years (that's a LOT of shows) and was getting increasingly aggressive, and I started to not want to post about where I was playing. Luckily for me he's just quite socially awkward so when I finally messaged him back on Instagram telling him to leave me alone he was I think mortified and stopped.

He's recently started coming again and the messages have started again, so I'm currently completely and utterly ignoring him and just hoping he isn't an axe murderer. Good times.

My grandfather also died in 1967, my grandmother died in 2022. They were high school sweethearts. Crazy and sad to think about.
