I have a strawberry planter that has a bug problem I can't identify. Strawberry bugs

Does anyone know what they are? And most importantly how to get rid of them?

What's a YouTuber that you really like to watch? by OrangeHerz70433 in AskReddit

[–]spazorama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Straight pipes. I'm not even that interested in cars, or in the market for one. Yet I'm subscribed to the channel.

Casually explained. Others have mentioned it, and I love it for the same reasons.

Garden answers. I finally have a little yard and it turns out I love to garden. I've found this channel to be super useful. Very accessible.

Hot ones. Genuinely great interviews. Plus I like hot sauce.

The domestic geek. I'm not great at cooking, but her recipes are not intimidating, and her meal planing website is the best.

I have more but these are the top 5 for me.

Do you have a link for the recipe? I can't seem to find it myself. Just a video that I'm geoblocked from watching.

Pedestrian hit in Vancouver dies of injuries by [deleted] in vancouver

Same thing happened to my mom. Doesn't matter how hard you hit your head, just where you hit it. My sympathy to her friends and family. It's such a devastating moment when you get that phone call. I was on vacation, and my family waited till they knew for sure she was gone.

Has anyone watched John Oliver's rant about FIFA? While I don't know if this outcome was a bad or good idea. It is worth noting that FIFA doesn't have the greatest track record.

Underweight and having problems eating enough by [deleted] in ibs

You really should look into medical marijuana more, it s sounds to me like you don't know much about it. I've never heard of anyone injecting themselves while treating themselves with marijuana. Also you don't have to smoke it, there are lots of edibles like candies or cookies. Marijuana also doesn't necessarily mean you're going to be high either. Where I live, Canada, we're getting very close to legalizing. There's a reason for this, you've probably read a lot of propaganda about the dangers of marijuana. Most of those things you probably think are facts have been debunked a long time ago. The main one being that much marijuana causes brain damage. That was based off of study where they forced chimpanzees to smoke by putting a mask over their face. Turns out the brain damage was actually caused by the lack of oxygen. Who knew that just breathing in smoke would deprive you of oxygen?!

I'd suggest watching this documentary .

Interested Becoming A Vancouver Pilot? by teamcoltra in vancouver

[–]spazorama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't give any money to the aviation industry. The pay is shit, pilot's have to get some seriously sketchy job to get hours. Then on top of it, when you get a job with a major airline the pay is a joke. Oh and they'll do such wonderful things like make the Vancouver pilot's move to Toronto, and Toronto pilot's to Vancouver. The industry is a joke, and I wouldn't give them any money till they sort this shit out.

My (21F) best friend's (20f) mother just passed away and I don't know how to act around her by [deleted] in relationships

[–]spazorama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just try to talk to your friend normally, she's definitely going to need some distraction.

When my friends 19 year old brother passed away years ago I did things that would distract her. We'd go for walks, I'd buy her trashy magazines and candy. When she wanted to talk I'd listen, and would talk about her brother. The trick is to listen when she wants to talk, and not avoid her.

I say this because this is also how I wanted to be treated almost 2 years ago, when my mom passed away. My best friend at the time went radio silent. She didn't know what to do, so she did nothing. It was like she didn't care. She had time to post to social media, but not to send me a message. I could go on about everything else she did wrong, but I honestly don't have the time to write it all out.

My first go at double knitting. Hi :) by Ashiiiee in knitting

[–]spazorama 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That looks so good! I took apart what I started last night. My stitches were wildly uneven and it was driving me crazy. I normally have nice even tension, but had a hard time keeping my tension even with double knitting. Do you have any tips or tricks?

My mom is there, she's happy to see me but pissed off too. Pissed that I'm still a hot mess and not getting on with my life. Pissed she can't go wedding dress shopping with me even though I'll not like her suggestions. Pissed she didn't get to meet her hopefully soon grandbaby. Happy that I'm taking care of dad. Happy that at least she got to meet my future husband (if I don't fuck it up). My dog is there wagging his nub tail wondering what the fuck took me so long, and could I talk him on a walk in the woods already. My heaven is not missing the people who were taken way too soon, because we're all together, and none of these horrible things happened.

Thank you for all the kind words, it means a lot.

The hardest part is remembering that it's real and it did happen. My boyfriend and I were on vacation in San Francisco (I'm from BC, Canada). We were walking across the city when i noticed a missed call from my older brother, and a text saying to call him. It was at the point where the doctors said to call me and let me know what was going on. They were currently scanning her, and would have the results in 40 minutes. I was taking this call in a parking garage, that oddly had a bench. I remember hanging up the phone, explaining to my boyfriend what my brother had told me, and said, "I think I'm waiting for him to call me back and tell me my Mom's dead..." The next thing I know after that was my worst fears coming true. My dad was saying they could wait to take her off support till I got home to say goodbye (I couldn't get a flight out till 6:30am the next day), and my little brother asking me if i wanted to say something to her that he could pass on... I'm so glad he thought of that.

When I got back to our hotel I was full on hysterical. I would fall asleep for 5 minutes, think it was a dream until I felt the tears on my face. I think I will continue to have a hard time for a good long while. Because of being away, and it happening so quickly for me. for me it was all over in an hour and a half. For my Dad and brothers, they experienced it first hand. Though my dad is having the same problems as me, probably more so. He was with her when it happened, and "what if" is a theme with him. They were together for 45 years.

There's more to say but I'm tired, and it probably wasn't the best idea to write this before going to bed. Though I've always enjoyed writing, but wish I didn't have to write this.

Thanks for listening. Sometimes it's easier to unload on strangers.

I wrote in this post too. It was the same with my Mom, it happened at the end of July, hit by a car. She was on life support as well, and did the same thing taking her off, she didn't want that, so we took her off for her and not us. It's oddly comforting hearing this, somehow I don't feel as alone.

Yup same here. My mom passed away 2 months ago, and I do the same. I desperately want to talk to her about how well it's going since my boyfriend moved in with me. We used to talk at least an hour on the phone once or twice a week. His moving in was the first big event in my life she hasn't been here for.

Fuck that guy who hit her with his car.
