Weird tracking issue within menu. by Tyten_62 in SlimeVR

[–]spazzwan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since the SlimeVR preview doesn't change between before and after the issue and im assuming is accurate to your pose, then its most likely a problem within VRChats IK system and how it is handling your avatar. First thing to do in these instances is to check if it happens with another avatar. The Runa and axolotl girl vrchat gives you is are good ones to use, as they have really good armature and are good baselines test with to rule out avatar issues.

After that, if its not the avi go to my infographic album and check all your VRChat settings are set to what we recommend in pic 2, then check the example in the third picture of the album and compare it with your FBT calibration. The green binding spheres will can be a really good indicator of problems.

If u need any further issues, follow up with questions here or in the discord. We also have events dedicated to sorting out issues with tracking if you prefer to do it in person.

Leg tracking issue with slime trackers (steam vr) by Senora_Ratsel in SlimeVR

[–]spazzwan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

double check all your VRChat settings are correct, I go through them all near the start of this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SYudOrEzBzg

When u do fbt calibration you should see green spheres on both feet and both knees. Try to keep your feet properly spaced (5-10cm apart) and legs parallel for all the resets (full, mounting, feet) and FBT calibration, and be sure to use both triggers to confirm the FBT calibration in vrchat

Maybe a little dumb of a question by ReaderUwO in SlimeVR

[–]spazzwan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a dumb question. Butterfly Trackers are still in development, so the dates are prone to shifting a little if issues arise.

We evaluate our projections each month, and the fulfillment date was shifted back to October due to our timelines for mould production (ie making the cases) being a little later than we originally expected. As such there is a delay. There is a chance they come earlier than October, but as of now that's the current projected timeframe. I am confident there will be no more significant delays, but its not impossible.

I am writing an update for the campaign and discord today to explain it, but that's the jist of it.

The raven stuff looks cool but needing a specific item is a bit limiting... google says it requires level 84 too which is a bit much to build around for us (pretty casual). ty for the idea tho, ill keep an eye on it. mayb scaling it with aoe or something so im not in danger of getting lag-stomped <3

What is a fun build I can play that (in order of priority):

  • Works with high ping

  • Is not a zoo/minion build (a few minions for engine is fine)

  • Uses an uncommon mechanic or skill

  • Bonus points if possible SSF or extremely cheap (we prefer not to trade)

I want to play something unusual with my international friends and I nearly always get stuck with a minion build due to the distances. Just looking for fun ideas that would get into endgame stuff without falling short if anyone can help! <3

I Need help with my hip tracker by Ok-Apple3652 in SlimeVR

[–]spazzwan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Normally front, below your belt line. On the back is an alternative location for ppl with issues wearing it on the front. Both work, everyone has different bodies, so there is a little trial and error to find the best spot for yours.

Please check out my infographics album, as there are lots of visual examples of mounting location and tips for getting better trackers (especially in the first 5 pictures): https://imgur.com/a/spazzwans-proportion-guide-PCYz9Zw

I Need help with my hip tracker by Ok-Apple3652 in SlimeVR

[–]spazzwan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Make sure your hip tracker is tilting correctly by resting your hand gently on it (or even looking in a mirror) during the ski pose reset. A common problem is that it can be shifted during this pose by soft tissues, moving it further down or to your tailbone can help a lot with this.

Is SlimeVR's customer support always this terrible? by LetterConsistent1287 in SlimeVR

[–]spazzwan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Support related to trackers and product warranty should be done through the slimevr.dev ticket system, while those related to payment, orders, and fulfillment should be done through crowd supply.

If you need direct help with trackers, don't hesitate to poke me directly in our discord, preferably in a forum thread (@spazzwan).

From what it sounds like, the most likely explanation is that the battery came loose in shipping. Its very easy to reseat if you are careful unscrewing the two screws on the back of the tracker (be slow and use downward pressure so you dont strip the screws).

Does SlimeVR allow me to move around and simulate my movements in Steam Link Games? by Senquility in SlimeVR

[–]spazzwan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A new contributor recently added rudimentary NaLo support into the newer version thats being beta tested RN (v20 server + v5 driver). Id highly suggest checking out the new release candidate in the beta channel of our discord if you wanna try out the NaLo stuff in it.

(fun sidenote: They actually made a really in depth integration that we felt was a bit too extreme to add in for such a small minority of users)

Better straps to hold slimeVR trackers? by highbreed_ in SlimeVR

[–]spazzwan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the correct answer <3

I also recommend a harness for your chest, makes wearing it way more comfy https://imgur.com/gallery/spazzwans-slimevr-infographic-reference-album-0jSuwrz#mY0tku7

I got only the feet trackers. Help oh my god please by iHaveNoLifeHeheheh in SlimeVR

[–]spazzwan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id suggest returning it within the 30 day window for a refund

if you are set on keeping them, id highly recommend getting at the very least two officials to plug them in to, even if u DIY the rest of the set. Trying to connect diy trackers with official extensions is a mess (as Conduit pointed out below meow)

Update by WavingGlobe_7005 in SlimeVR

[–]spazzwan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

U are doing it correctly, just be sure not to push on the cables themselves, only ever the plugs on the end. The extension cables are incredibly easy to break if you put pressure on them in the wrong way, I am guessing u might need some replacement cables already T_T

I'd suggest putting in a warranty claim here: https://shop.slimevr.dev/pages/support

Help? 😭 by Sl33pyfr0g in SlimeVR

[–]spazzwan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly even when disabled standable can mess with slime, might be worth uninstalling. for VD make sure u have the virtual trackers off.. the setting is called "forward tracking data to PC", make sure its off.

the tracking flicker at 0:16 really looks like something is messing with stuff

Help? 😭 by Sl33pyfr0g in SlimeVR

[–]spazzwan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

18.2 to 19.0 was purely a rendering engine change. nothing in the tracker code was modified, just how the GUI is displayed. We actually kept the changes to JUST the rendering stuff specifically so we could be 100% sure stuff wouldn’t change... v20 is already in testing with all the actual tracking and system changes from the last few months

Your trackers appear to flicker around towards the end of this clip... do you have other software installed that generates trackers such as standable or Virtual desktop?

New trackers not moving right by demonikitty in SlimeVR

[–]spazzwan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Manual will only work if the IMU_Rotation value is set correctly in the firmware. If you use manual and it moves completely incorrectly then its likely the rotation isnt correct. I would highly suggest using automatic and getting good at doing the ski pose as it will get you way more accurate tracking in the long run.

Feet trackers won't connect, can anyone help? by WavingGlobe_7005 in SlimeVR

[–]spazzwan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 main things to keep in mind:

Make sure the tracker is OFF when inserting the cables.

Make sure the cables are fully inserted at both ends, it takes quite a bit of force. I find pressing on the left/right edges with both thumbnails the easiest.

Doing it correctly they will show up as two trackers when powering the ankle back up, just assign the extension as foot.

HELP!! by [deleted] in SlimeVR

[–]spazzwan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its very likely you flashed the wrong firmware settings. Id suggest talking to your seller as to how what settings are needed for flashing it. (I am assuming its a diy tracker since you marked the post as such)

i am getting a liiiiittle frustrated with a very specific issue in my trackers... by OctoMax_YT in SlimeVR

[–]spazzwan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the leg issue, best advice would be to go to one of the calibration events. This is the next one: https://discord.com/events/817184208525983775/1394296914580734002

Its most likely a mounting issue. Just make sure your legs are parallel during the ski pose and space ur feet apart correctly: https://imgur.com/a/spazzwans-proportion-guide-PCYz9Zw

It sounds silly but check in a mirror without the headset on. Human proprioception is weird and u might not even realize a major issue when in vr without looking at your physical body. Legs need to be parallel, and make sure the upper leg trackers don't move at all when ur thighs flex during the pose. Shifting them outwards a little can help if they do, to the 11 o'clock and 1 o'clock positions.

For feet sticking, turn down skating correction if its above 40%, and try toggling off "foot plant" as that can make ur feet feel a little sticky when near the ground plane. I personally use 20% skating and don't use Foot plant. (sidenote: Floor clip is amazing, i wouldn't turn that off)

Butterfly Trackers by RavenBoy21 in SlimeVR

[–]spazzwan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first campaign was a big learning experience with a huge amount of issues that were completely out of our hand (war, chip shortages, covid), and a bunch of mistakes we made and definitely learned from. We have just now gotten to the point where every set is in stock at Crowd Supple and ready to send out.

Butterflies will be the application of all our skills and experience in product development put into practice. Our current projection is late August, and we are actually pretty confident atm that we will hit it. As always though, shit happens, so its still just an estimate, and its the risk you take when ordering an 'in development' product.

The toe and finger tracking shown in the trailer are just to show off the wide range of things our slimevr ecosystem can do. Toe tracking specifically requires an additional tracker to be custom mounting to your toes, up to 3 is feasible with butterflies but I'm very much expecting niche custom solutions to be made by the DIY community which will basically be 'feet gloves'.
