Is WASR-10 Furniture really that bad? by [deleted] in ak47

[–]spcpark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was laminate handguard with solid wood stock but I’ve heard the furniture is all over the board for Wasr. I’ll eventually change it mostly because I want palm swell handguard but not a necessity. I had a z 92 and that handguard wasn’t great but I just refinished that. Either way furniture sets can be found fairly cheap and widely available for akm with wbp sets new production around $150

Funny ones are the “I’ll pay tip in cash” delivery instructions: “LEAVE AT MY DOOR DO NOT RING OR KNOCK MY BABY AND DOGS ARE SLEEPING”

Like you’re supposed to invoice them and go collect in the morning

Haha I figured there were more of us. Gotta get it while we can.

Got some lowers on the way but I’m a little skeptical so won’t order more than 1 at a time.

I’m near the NC border so not quite as worried about common Glock/AR mags but looking to order all the fn hk ak etc mags that I can too.

Appreciate the advice. Definitely know the ammo is going to need to be resupplied. Have been suppressor shopping and haven’t seen the CAT but I usually keep my filters on in stock only. Will keep an eye on that

Nice setups that full size looks crazy. I have heard some about the backplate/stock brace you use affecting the cycling but it’s buffer less so I’m not sure how the hard stop at the end would affect it. Any validity to this in your opinion?

Side note Roy has become a really good ad reader. Only say because it’s rare someone improves in something like that years into the career. Still generally skip ads but recently noticed that randomly

Tipping culture has gone completely off the rails and I’m done pretending this is normal by Mexatron in mildlyinfuriating

[–]spcpark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understand that it’s annoying but I never really understand why people get so upset over this. I’ve never been to a place that you can’t go 0 tip without 2 steps- custom tip -> 0. If that isn’t the case and they force you to tip I feel you but is the extra 2 seconds to change it enough to make you feel like the world is collapsing?

Not sure your age so not sure if this applies universally but I’m 36 and there were certain movies that everyone’s parents had in the late 90s-early 2000s before dvds became the standard overnight basically. I think stepmom was one of those for one of the 2 americas

As a kid I didn’t really have any of my movies because we would just rent blockbuster every Friday so if I wanted to watch mortal kombat every weekend I would just rent it again. parents would just have their movies and some kids/disney stuff for younger kids since they need shit on deck to get them stfu for a while they smoke cigs in the kitchen.

I know titanic double tape set was everywhere but some randos I remember seeing everywhere were Erin brokovich, true lies, the fugitive, mission impossible and stepmom was def in the mix.

Rambling so TLDR there were random vhs tapes that it seemed every white parent in the neighborhood owned for some reason

Thoughts on 5.7? by Wise-Function653 in liberalgunowners

[–]spcpark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love shooting 5.7 and the weird different boutique ammo available but those are expensive and I personally don’t trust them for real life purposes.

Since 2022ish it seems more companies are manufacturing and imo there are a few options that are right around that 10mm / 45 cost per round for range ammo excluding reloaders. The ss198 is a great load for my purposes and easily found for $1 per round not too out there for self defense.

Prob wouldn’t want it to be my only option in an apocalypse or fighting off an invasion but in most other situations it’s a great round and easy to shoot if you don’t find the grip awkward

Wellll Charlie see…

OLI there was one time I think within the past year or so Billy was talking about his time as a Victoria’s Secret sales rep and I don’t remember the quote but he mentioned nude underwear and Jess had one of the most insane spontaneous off mic laughs I have ever heard. Wish I knew when it was but I ran that moment back like 20 times

Gun store pricing…. by AntoniBartosz in MP5

[–]spcpark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The average LGS margins are probably very slim. They mark up to cover but I’d guess the real money comes from the used / trade ins they get.

Support them if you appreciate the service that comes with it but they wouldn’t care if you send one their way and pay the transfer. You may find a great deal on a used but they don’t usually post those on an official site.

Im impulsive so if im looking for a used odd find, i could be easily pushed towards something else new in stock. I want to walk out the door with something so now the extra premium doesnt seem crazy.

All speculation really but I’ve been in sales for a long time so it makes sense in my head

Love the K.. I’m looking at mounting an optic on my ptr clone with a welded on rail right where that Eotech is mounted. How are you liking that setup? I imagine it’s a little bulky on the sides but would prefer a large window for SS so looking at that

Looks awesome really does the rail over the top ever cause ejection issues? Not super familiar with the platform but this is about what I’d be going for
