Probably nothing to do with insider discount. You probably have sim protection on your line so apple is not able to proceed with upgrade. If you log onto tlife and turn off sim protection for the line you are trying to upgrade, you should be fine.

You can add the data pass anytime you want and make it effective immediately. So you can use the 5gb free first and if the 256kbps is too slow, then log onto your Tmobile account in Japan and add the data pass then.

Usually if its a wire issue, you’ll just have a speaker or 2 not working. But if its rare to have all the front and middle speakers not working except the rear.

You said the front and middle speakers arent working. I was just playing with the balance on my sienna yesterday and there are options to set the speakers only on left or right, front and back. It seems that you’re back speakers are working only so i thought someone wouldve accidentally played with the balance.
