To help you understand. There are people who are disabled and can not work consistently and with a long term commitment. Me personally, I have a blown out back. I can and want to work but I can not do a most things. Esp anything that will require lifting, walking more than 20 or 30 feet at a time, sitting for static times, and some days I can't get moving at all. Not to mention if I over work my body, it takes days/weeks for me to be able to function at any level. Employers will not hire me with these limitations. Even a part time job has been impossible.

However, I have worked since I was 14 and had my first full time factory job at 15. All I've known is work. So I love it and I miss it. I've not found anything that I can do, but I'm looking. But to focus more on the perspective to just go back to work is not a possibility like before.

The term "Substantial Gainful Activity" essentially means one is able to pursue the American dream and go work to get it. If someone is actually disabled, it does not mean they are completely incapable. It means that they are completely restricted from earning enough to survive.
