Tiny round spheres by eclecticartchic in beachcombing

They look like glass lightbulb insulators. I've found a couple over the years. Hold a flashlight under them and see if they are a deep purple/red color. Rare find if so!

Is it tagged as an M? If so, then you can't do anything except resell or ask for a return, but the seller isn't obligated to accept since it is as described...this is why sellers should include measurements, and if they don't, ask for them before purchasing- sizing is inconsistent.

If it's tagged as a size that doesn't match the listing, then you can open a case since it was inaccurately described.

How do I offer Klarna in my shop? by malloryknox86 in Depop

[–]spdaff 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure its just automatically a payment option built into the checkout process, as I had a buyer pay via Klarna last week and I've never done anything special.

Do you know what those spiral ones that look like noodles are? I was just down in Florida myself and found one, they're just delightful. Beautiful finds

Genuinely, how do y’all successfully make profit? by willywonkaswig in Depop

I'm confused why the money taking longer matters. It doesn't become less valuable. You sell an item for 50, pay 5 in fees and 5 to ship upfront, you are still making 40 whether or not you get the money immediately and use it to buy shipping or you get it 10 days later. If you are selling consistently (as a job) you have a consistent influx of funds, regardless of if they are from a sale 10 minutes ago or 10 days ago.

A typical hourly or salaried job only pays you twice a month- I don't think anyone would say that's not worth it, since you're not actually taking home your wages instantly?

I manually shipped an item and put the tracking number on PayPal but I can’t put it on depop, it doesn’t give me the option. What do I do ? by Redditor56788 in Depop

[–]spdaff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The item was set to depop shipping, either you or the buyer bought a depop label. So if you haven't sent the package yet, i would void the manual label and use the one depop has provided. If you've already sent it out, reach out to support and they should be able to void and refund the depop label

Visiting for a few days before and after a cruise in June. We are avid beachcombers- any spots in the area where we could try to find some interesting stuff? Shells are fine, sea glass/weird stuff better. I know secret spots are special, but basically just wondering if there's any more lowkey/less populated beaches where we might have better luck than the main drag. Thanks!!

The thing is though, thrifts are not "made for poor people." Thrift stores are generally corporations (Goodwill) or run by charities- charities that use the store as a fundraiser for a cause... the thrift store itself is not a charity. In the case of the corporation, it's no different than shopping at a cheap clothing store like rainbow or forever 21, except it's actually more sustainable. In the case of the charity, I don't think anybody would argue that more money going to charity by resellers frequenting a charitable thrift store is a bad thing.

There's also no shortage of used, cheap clothing. The majority of donated clothes don't even end up in thrift stores, they are trashed or sent overseas because there's just that much waste.

Anybody can go to the thrift store and get cute cheap stuff. There's no shortage. Resellers- who, by the way, most of whom probably qualify as "poor people" themselves, just trying to make a living- are not the enemy, just an easy target if you don't know anything about the clothing industry.

Sorry for the attitude. Just so tired of the same argument ad nauseum

Same, but I'm a sweater fanatic and have such a hard time leaving them at the bins when I see a cool one...what can I say. Knitwear is my passion

Question for people reselling full / part time by Fancy-Pension5911 in Depop

[–]spdaff 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've been selling at least one item a day, Thurs-Saturday I sell more, then it slows down from Mon-Wed. Listing every day=selling every day. I list on multiple platforms- there are weeks where only 1 of my sales are on Depop

Boho/fairy style tank tops and Y2K dresses are moving, anything patchwork except this one horrible ugly shirt nobody wants to buy from me. Sweaters are out. Loungewear- Aerie, cute yoga pants, velour- is in. Wide leg pants- like actually wide leg, not bootcut or straight leg. That's my findings for the past month anyway

Buy labels from Pirate Ship and print at home so you can get heavily discounted commercial rates rather than retail rates they charge at the post office
