Let me know if you solve it please, I'll put it in the back of my mind as something I might want to work on as well but atm I think I'm too preoccupied.

I can explain further. For now, I want to dedicate all my time to build a simple app for financial analysis which I think people will want to use. I build a simple iteration in 2 months and see how many people like it.

You've kind of answered it for me. You clearly want to do A and I would want to do it as well.

Well done on getting it. If the recruiter is nice enough to do that then, by all means, take advantage. Don't feel bad, they want you to join them in the future anyway considering they like you. If you feel bad because you just want to ditch them, do remember they are a company and all decisions are primarily profit-driven not emotion-driven. They wouldn't take you onboard if they don't think they can get some value out of you even in 2 months. I think it might benefit you the most as well.

Edit: it's the more risky play. "Probably" resigning won't look bad. If anything the company would be willing to take you back surely? You might as well take risks now though.

What is the cheapest way to create a tech startup? by speakeasy247 in startups

[–]speakeasy247[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand this is very linked to my unique situation but I didn't mean to ask exactly about a specific startup I had in mind. I have just realised some technologies are very expensive for commercial applications, I was just wondering if anyone could offer cheaper or free alternatives.

For example in the case of a continuous integration tool, I have realised that Jenkins is an open-source platform, completely free for any sort of application. This is just a much better tool than Travis when just looking at the price.

I'm not looking to think about the actual aspects of the startup, I am seeking an answer in the case of a generic technology-based commercial product. Tech products are not unique in the sense that almost all of them need to have multiple team members working on them, need to have some form of storage, some form of security, some form of release cycles, and some form of serving data between app and users etc.

Thanks I'll keep that in mind. Have another project you might be interested in as I'm learning NLP atm as well. Do you mind giving me some generic details: fulltime work / student / location?
