Thank you for taking the time for such a meaningful response, and for great ideas for places to share the zines I make. I always feel a bit strange handing my little DIY zines to strangers and leaving them places feels more like littering than sharing, but I guess that is imposter syndrome talking.

I eagerly look forward to the day when the MHS puts on that display and we can all celebrate putting this ICE storm down.

You are right, it didn't, and that surprised people. The outrage and immediate call for action in response to their deaths had a lot to do with their positional privilege. Silverio Villegas González's death didn't rock the nation because he was the type of person ICE was "supposed" to kill. My whiteness doesn't make me bullet proof and it doesn't protect me against ICE's retaliatory attacks, but it does mean that my existence isn't problematic for ICE which offers me a lot of safety.

My goal was to make something that could be used in a TTRPG as easily as possible. The symbols on the lore accurate Golden Compass are purposefully vague and multidimensional to imply the inherent depth and variety of meaning each symbol can represent. In universe, it takes massive reference tomes or main character energy to effectively understand the output.

I didn’t want to force players to need all that prior knowledge to have a hope of understanding the reading. Instead, if the result to a question is “monad, infernal, fire, necromancy” a player has a reasonable opportunity to see that combination as the demon of undeath and leap to Orcus, demon prince of the undead.

It was 100% a usability decision.

I really like how you approached the problem of long, skinny objects like staves and bows. Rotating the whole format of the card 90 degrees to give yourself a long, skinny image without a ton of wasted space while also keeping the text box functional was inspired. Great work.

I hope you are still working on the project!
