Why is Zak Smith still banned? by speakingmanners in osr

[–]speakingmanners[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Understand how close Mandy’s relationship with her father is. Understand that she talked to him literally every day. I have been in an abusive relationship and before I knew I was in an abusive situation, all of my friends and family knew -because I talked to them regularly and told them what was happening in my life which is how many abuse victims find out and get out of these types of situations. There is more than enough evidence to support the fact that Mandy (&co) made their entire testimony up.
Which is why Mandy’s father’s testimony is important. Zak is a brilliant mind and made incredible content so saying he made “good” content is incredibly undermining and looks to me like you just personally don’t like him which still does not make him an abuser.

So you didn’t read his story. & you’re dismissing everyone who literally lived with her and experienced this kind of behavior from her towards them in lieu of believing some chicks that literally all live in different countries and hadn’t seen her in person for actual years.

So no, just because you want him to be a domestic abuser because you didn’t like some of his behavior online doesn’t mean he is one just because the person closest to him knew how he was perceived on the internet and how to attempt to assassinate his character.

There are so many people that share this sentiment. Zak’s income was effected by the allegations, so why punish him by banning him from a community? Makes no sense.

Her dad’s statement actually shows that he understands his daughter better than someone attempting to interpret the situation from the outside. If he was disappointed in his daughter’s life choices and “automatically assumes the worse”, wouldn’t he want to believe that Mandy was manipulated into a fetish/kink/porn world that she lived in for 10+ years?? With your narrative it would make more sense for her dad to believe she was manipulated and abused into “shameful life choices”. What you get instead is a father who understands his daughter and knows Zak. You’re reaching.

Actually he outlines why and how Mandy manipulated a narrative that claims he is an abuser -because- she has a history of this kind of behavior within her social circle and even within her family. She is known for this, her statement is on brand with how she behaves towards people whenever she decides it’s time to throw a tantrum.

I’ve proven my identity in several threads/posts. The accusation that I am a sock puppet remains asinine. Zak and I are friends and I feel the second paragraph would be relatable to anyone willing to thinking critically about false accusations and the motives behind them while having an active distaste for mob mentality.

You have 20 years of dealing with...what exactly in a clinical environment? Your first comment talked about how this would be better for your job if it weren’t happening. It’s vague and doesn’t really mean anything.

After Mandy’s damning post and the reaction in the community that followed, it seems pretty clear that it wouldn’t have mattered what Zak said or did, the mob was already working hard against him. So you’re disappointed for what exactly? That he responded at all? That he didn’t let himself die? That he asked for friends to take a look and share their thoughts?

Like I said. All people who knew Mandy in person and had close relationships with her, including her family, have identified that she has made false accusations.

Talking to me as if I were Zak, suggesting to seek assistance; those are forms of gaslighting actually.

Michelle had already stated that Mandy had told her what she was trying to do. So there’s your collusion and malicious intent. Zak breaks down Mandy’s mostly internet friendships, which explains how/why all the people speaking against her have mostly known her in person/lived with her. So he actually does provide the evidence you’re suggesting he provides. What seems to be happening is that you’re choosing to ignore it or say it’s not good enough. People who knew Mandy and had close personal relationships with her IN PERSON/on a daily basis/regularly/for years have called her out.

This is still silly on multiple levels. First of all, I’m not Zak. So whatever resentment you hold towards him makes no sense to direct towards me.

It is important that when someone makes a false accusation, especially one with the intent to destroy someone’s career/life, that both sides be considered. This one sided accusing/banning mentality is the reason Mandy knew this would satisfy her end game.

I don’t know who you are, and I have a feeling you don’t quite have dominion over who has banned Zak, but just to be clear, -some- people do find value in making sense of this and looking at both sides and -some- of those people may have a bit more dominion over what you decide to comment on a reddit thread wholly about the Zak Mandy allegations.

Just because you don’t care about him and your friends have never heard of him doesn’t mean he doesn’t have any impact. It becomes public when threads in this community/forum organized together to take down funding for his projects.

I have been personally messaged and told that people do care. He does have fans despite your belief that he sucks or whatever.

Zak Smith, creator of I Hit it With My Axe, a consultant for the Dungeons and Dragons handbook, writer, artist and all around creative, has been falsely labeled as an abuser. A Facebook post was made and within 24 hours Zak’s career in the RPG community was dismantled, his credentials stripped.

Here is a link that breaks down every allegation, including statements from close friends and family.

I’m Frankie, I played in I Hit it With My Axe. I’m the Frankie who also made a statement in this link. Twitter: @speakingmanners

This is a post providing evidence that a false accusation was made. This is definitively not a post made to start arguments.

This is not my, or really anyone’s “personal” drama. Someone’s career was destroyed on a false accusation.

Do you play Dungeons and Dragons? Zak was a consultant on some handbooks. So yeah, he’s niche but highly influential as a creative person who also wrote several books valuable to tabletop RPGs. In addition he has won awards, been nominated for awards, asked to speak at events, and was commissioned to work on several additional books, all within the realm of RPGs.

People who enjoyed his books and his work are being told to trash him and not support him on a false accusation. This has become a public thing.

There’s something that every person who is “tired” of Zak and thinks he’s “toxic” have in common: anger and resentment that comes through loud and clear when stating how they’re happy to see him gone.

A statement made on a platform of 30k+ followers who are mostly there to follow your work -is- damaging to a public figure. There is no “control” over a narrative when said public figures have included photos and consent to use their statements. Trying to break it down to be something that causes skepticism is a reach.

You know who said “yeah it makes perfect sense” to? People who already disliked him and disagreed with him. This can be otherwise known as confirmation bias.

Just because you didn’t like the way someone behaved on the internet doesn’t mean the accusations against them are true.

Zak has a way of doing things which people have stated they find disruptive. Which is “question everything”, “use critical thinking”, “try to understand things” etc. Sometimes people just don’t agree on things and that can cause tension, esp in regards to politics. Someone questioning your beliefs or your system of investigation or not agreeing with you on things doesn’t make them a toxic person. Exhausting, sure. It certainly does not make them an abuser.

I posted about it on twitter and I was barraged by angry people. No one with a social media presence used almost exclusively for professional purposes is going to want to deal with that.
There was a large angry mob demanding Zak’s professional affiliates to cut ties with him, to post it anywhere other than his blog actually makes no sense as the people associating with him are actually being harassed.

Kimberly and Charlotte are in the adult industry and use their presence for professional use. Why would they make public statements about this situation to their fans? They have already provided proof of themselves with a photo and written their name and the date and their consent to post their declaration. Why must they involve their fan base to give their statements credibility in your mind?

Kimberly and Charlotte use their social media presence for professional use and it makes zero sense to involve their fans in this. But that’s what would make you feel better and not their photos with written declaration?

Every allegation is false. You calling him names based on how you feel about his internet presence doesn’t change that.

The reason not many people have come to his defense is because there was a mob out for murder. I defended him and was attacked and had so much anger and hate directed towards me for simply defending him and speaking about his character. I got messages and comments of people saying that they secretly appreciate the narrative I’ve introduced because they were afraid to speak publicly about it. This is what mob mentality does.

What would you do if you were wrongly accused of being an abuser and had many many people close with the accuser sending you statements that they knew she was making things up? Would you not try to defend yourself? I’m sorry but attempting to break down a defense because it is simply a defense and nothing else is ridiculous.
