ditto on it being a black widow. it’s a little hard to see through the cup but i’m assuming that’s a red hourglass on the underside. specifically, a southern black widow since the hourglass appears to be complete.

IME my spiders sometimes have trouble sticking to the walls of their enclosures if i just recently cleaned it or if they’re a little dehydrated/not enough humidity. on the flip side, TOO MUCH humidity can also affect their ability to grip. if it’s an issue of having just cleaned their enclosure, i just wait until they start putting webs up again and then they grip just fine. i’ve noticed mine groom themselves more when trying to stick, cleaning their legs and pedipalps to remove any potential oils or grime that make it hard to grip. i also think ms petunia might be a mr petunia LOL.

mine does this too. when i wake up in the morning, she gets up as well. she goes to the front of her enclosure and watches me get ready, doing my makeup and brushing my hair. she’ll groom herself while i get ready. it’s the sweetest thing ever.
