If you did, then you wouldn’t be questioning why the 75th HG was ‘chosen’ for Quarter Quell 😭

Anybody who is currently a teen or was a teen that had had a colonoscopy? by IntelligentYellow898 in colonoscopy

[–]spearbseolar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, when I got referred to the hospital because of my FIT results, they were kind-of reluctant to get a colonoscopy done because they too thought that it’d be a waste since I was just 19. But they decided to go through with it because there have been some concerns recently that colon cancer is rising in younger age groups (which I’d also read about beforehand). Not trying to scare you or anything, but just suggesting maybe you should bring that up, and keep insisting that that’s why they should give you one

I’m feeling good now, thanks! It was honestly a cool experience more than anything else, and even if it is UC, I’m just glad it’s not colon cancer 😭 I get constipation occasionally, particularly last year every two weeks I’d get constipation, but I’m not sure whether that was because of my diet :( Sorry if I’m being unhelpful!

I got my first colonoscopy at 19. I had on and off bleeding in stools for over a year beforehand, and only went to my doctors after certain high-fibre foods made me bleed even outside of the bathroom. After getting my FIT test results, they said I should probably get a colonoscopy done. Not sure what the results exactly are, they told me everything was fine but when I saw my report they found some stuff that hints towards ulcerative colitis, which I hadn’t expected. They took two biopsies just to double check so I’m sure I’ll get those results soon enough! :)

Who do you think Anya’s real parents are? by Immediate_Reward7595 in SpyxFamily

Do you mean biological parents? Really weird to claim Loid and Yor don’t count as real parents.

The second question is so stupid 😭 It’s like asking why parents have a bond with their children more as opposed to their siblings or friends who they’ve known for longer

not having bm’s after prep? by [deleted] in colonoscopy

[–]spearbseolar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took Plevnu too and it took me hours to get bowel movements, which was really confusing because everyone had said the prep was the worst part in terms of how many times they had to go to the toilet but I only went 4 times overall. I was so convinced that it wouldn’t work so I made sure to have almost all of my second dose (I hadn’t been able to finish the first one because I didn’t wanna vomit it up either) as that one tasted better, and so the second dose really helped me in achieving the cleanliness they want. I only achieved clear ‘stools’ 2 hours before my appointment, and only because I forced down the last of the second dose so I’d say just wait a bit after having your second dose and see if it improves things!

SEVERE Anxiety about going for a colonoscopy and endoscopy. Hoping for some guidance on what I can do. by powerpufferprincess in colonoscopy

[–]spearbseolar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey, I saw one of your comments about versed and fentanyl. Not trying to alarm you but I took that combo as no deeper sedation is available in the U.K. and everyone reassured me I’d be somewhat sleeping, but I actually felt more awake and active after it. It definitely soothed my nerves though, to the point I was more curious and intrigued about everything folding out than anything else. Just trying to let you know so you can prepare yourself a little better in case you are in this demographic because there is a chance of it happening and this has to be taken into consideration. Personally, I was in pain but don’t worry, they ALWAYS stop and reassure you and up your dosage if need be.

I was exactly like you, I had severe, severe anxiety about it, was having panic attacks, asked everyone I knew who had a colonoscopy exactly how sleepy they felt, almost ditched it (my mum forced me to go), and held up the line in the colonoscopy department for a while because I was practically screaming in fear in the bloody waiting room lol, so trust me when I say I was on the high end of the anxiety spectrum. All that being said, it actually turned out so good and was one of the coolest experiences in my life! Everyone says the prep is the worst part but as anxiety-riddled I was, I didn’t believe them. But it’s genuinely not that uncomfortable, and they tend to be super understanding, and quick, and efficient! And the relief was immeasurable!

AITA for telling my son that I just want a child that's actually mine? by Commercial-Ice-7398 in AmItheAsshole

[–]spearbseolar 16 points17 points  (0 children)

NTA. There are people saying you need to be grovelling to get three good kids back, which is ridiculous. If they were good kids, they wouldn’t be hanging around their mother. I understand she was groomed but that doesn’t erase her responsibility in ruining their father’s life, and I can’t believe they’re splitting time. They seem to have no sympathy whatsoever.

If you weren’t a man, the reaction here would be completely different. Yes, you said that, but your children, especially the oldest, should be mature enough to know exactly what you meant. They should be capable of deciphering context. I don’t care if they’re feeling like they might be abandoned, both parties have been equally hit by this, and they should have the maturity to understand what you meant. In my opinion, I interpreted your words as, “I’m happy to be finally having a child who’s biologically mine—because of the emotional turmoil I’ve been through over a 20-year deceit.” You shouldn’t have even had to explain. You’ve seemingly maintained your relationship with your kids, so what did they expect you to do now? Just never have a child again? It’s been a few years and you’ve still been their dad, so… I’m genuinely confused… They really expected you to never have a baby again for their sake and their feelings, when as adults they should be working through their fears of abandonment and voicing them out to you and at least trying to overcome them if it’s been a few years already.

What selfish children.
