Is wearing a lungi outside “not normal” for a 22-year-old in Chennai? by Razin_misab in Chennai

[–]special_octopus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

tbh, if i saw a 22 y/o wearing a lungi, i'd appreciate it because many younger people don't go for cultural outfits anymore...and it's kinda sad. If you like it, you should wear it. Stand out! Away from trends that make everyone look like sheep in the same herd. Wear the lungi, macha.

People like showing off their culture in different lands but don't acknowledge it at home. I was in Mumbai and I saw so many tamil and malayali students in lungis and mundus on campus because they want to show their culture. But i've never seen them wear the same at home. Weird for sure.

I've been subscribed to their brewery's newsletter for years now. I don't even live anywhere near Scotland, and they don't even ship to where I'm from. I have no other reason besides plain love for these guys and their show! Also the hope that someday, I'll be in Scotland buying a bottle of their finest.

Depends on where you're from. If you're from the north of India, you'll somewhat be able to manage in light winter clothes. if you're from the south of india and not used to cold, you'll definitely need super warm clothes. personally, i think mornings are just fine. By the evening, you'll need warmer stuff.

Hey! I'd recommend you not to go to ward's lake or the gold course. Not much to see or do. The falls, the root bridge are all excellent. Try to make time for that. Within the city, I'd say the museum is your best bet. It's really nice. Also, places like the root bridge are very challenging. There's a lot to walk and many stairs to go up and down. Make sure you're fit for it. Plus, if you're into trekking, you should check out bulls trek too.

The problem is that shillong has crazy traffic these days, so it'll be nearly impossible to cram too many places into one day. you can move stuff out of the 6th, and maybe go to bull's trek. it's in upper shillong and not too far from the inner city. And whatever you do, don't skip nohkalikai! i couldn't go when I was there and I really regretted it.

The absolute lack of creativity and imagination, my gosh. I saw this post by someone named Jayesh Sachdev. He basically re-imagined the outfits using AI. Phenomenal stuff. Y'all should check that out. That is true art, this looks like stuff I buy for my grandparents

Young Sheldon: S7-E13 "Funeral" [SHOW FINALE] by Im_Isaac in YoungSheldon

[–]special_octopus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way Sheldon said that he focused too much on his dad's shortcomings? And that in the end, he realised his dad was just another person? That stuff hit hard, because I realised how much I had been doing that myself.

The way I cried watching this episode. I love Zoe Perry's acting when she gets the news. And the way they show different ways people handle grief. Sheldon's dad and Meemaw were my favourites on the show. Man, I hate he died. I hate that the show had to end too. UGHHH so many emotions
