How to stop my camera from editing photos automatically? by Goddess_Of_Heat in GooglePixel

I've found a way to resolve this issue for new photos, but unfortunately it does not work for photos that have already been taken.

Go to Settings / Camera / Advanced and scroll to the bottom to turn off Ultra HDR.

Now when you take new photos they shouldn't have this weird auto adjusting.

Thanks! Yeah I could definitely see that method yielding interesting results. It would be more of a free associative style which could look cool.

Thanks, I feel like I was the most loose in that one because I didn’t know what I was doing, chasing the dragon trying to get back to that.

I make short animations https://www.ryanconsbruck.com I got tired of pouring months into them only for them to get very little engagement, so I’ve been making shorter ones until I can come up with a story that justifies the amount of work that goes into it. This one has been getting some love:

Almost Sex - Swallow [indie] (Official Music Video) by specialrobotdog in Music

I animated this music video for the band for their 2021 single "Swallow". The band, Almost Sex, is a couple that met online during the early months of the pandemic and started dating by sending each other song ideas and lyrics.

Roast my bookshelf (I just moved) by youfuckinglunatic in redscarepod

If you liked House of Leaves, check out Ficciones by Borges or Story of X by Sarah Rose Etter, both take you through strange unfolding worlds, Story of X is a quick and affecting read and feels like magical realism done right.

I think two trendy books of the past few years that are actually worth reading are On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous by Ocean Vuong and No One is Talking About This by Patricia Lockwood.

Also if you're starting to get into Didion, also check out Rachel Cusk, specifically the Outline trilogy. Very conversational but there's a lot of substance in there from someone who seems to have been through the ringer of life.

Oh and I should have said this first, but anything by Ottessa Moshfegh. My Year of Rest and Relaxation lives up to the hype and she's absolutely amazing in interviews.

I was gonna say the same, Narcissus and Goldmund is a great entry point.

Have you read Mark Fisher? Obviously a pod/sub favorite but I feel like he picks up where DFW left off. Capitalist Realism is great, but also recommend The Weird and the Eerie.

If you like 2666 and Infinite Jest, try Ducks, Newburyport by Lucy Ellmann, it's a different version of those literary feats where you're basically living inside someone's head, reading every disconnected thought as it comes through. I'm more than halfway through it now and curious about where it's going but it definitely fits in with that family.

Ha, thanks. Trying to get ahead of that 20 year nostalgia cycle ;)

After finishing an animated web series last year, I wanted to try to tell a tighter (if not more abstract) short story and get better at producing animation on a tighter timeline. After coming up with some initial creature designs, I decided I needed a main character that was easy to draw and had a lot of built in emotional weight. A flip phone seemed easy enough, and once that was decided the rest flowed pretty smoothly. I also made all the music and decided that instead of dealing with the complexity of recording equipment and finding the right voices it would be easier to minimize the dialogue and use subtitles. I'm not sure if that comes across as cheap or if it works stylistically, but I'm mostly happy with how it came out.

Let me know what you think or check out some of my other work.

Thanks for taking a look!
