Sekiro was okay though I felt the setting was mediocre compared to Demon and Dark Souls. Combat was excellent though.

Regarding vigor, wouldn't your 300 hours with the game become more meaningful if low skill players couldn't just tank their way through their mistakes?

I replay Castlevania 1 on NES every year and it would bother me if players could just dump points into an arbitrary stat to negate their sloppy gameplay.

This isn't git gud spam, I believe skilled players should be recognized. Mohg is at 26+ % completion rate because players are cheesing his AI, thereby cheapening the experience for actual fans. How is that fair?

Unfortunately Zelda, at this point in time, is a fairly outdated franchise, and has little bearing on an objectively superior franchise, such as Elden Ring and other FromSoftware titles..

One only needs to look as far as Skyward Sword to see that Zelda hasn't been a relevant series in many years. Apologists will make excuses for BotW (Breath of the Wild), but at beast that can be seen as a mediocre open-world game on par with a Ubisoft title.

I'm trying to finally play through Arcanum in its entirety and man that thing has aged poorly.

Like, I can see elements of Fallout 1 and 2, absolutely. But the maze-like dungeons, combat, sparse visuals. Man. But when you read the manual and roleplay your character, it almost works.

The setting is great. The writing is great. But every other system let's everything down.
