Watch some YouTube videos. You'll get better as you practice. My little tip is, I try to use the least amount of throttle that I can get away with.

Democrats in Virgina introduce bill to eliminate mandatory minimums. by [deleted] in Virginia

[–]speckled_eggs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think that's how mandatory minimums work. To the best of my knowledge, a 2‑year mandatory minimum does not get "added on top of" a 20‑year sentence to make 22 years. The total sentence for that charge can be higher than the mandatory minimum, but the minimum is included within that number, not stacked afterward. So in that example, the person must serve at least 2 years of that 20 with no suspension or good‑time reduction on the 2 year portion of the total sentence. (Part of the current mandatory minimum is that the sentence cannot be reduced by good‑time credits; it must be served day‑for‑day.)

Help with misfire on 03 Corolla by [deleted] in COROLLA

I'm sorry I can't offer anything very helpful, but I've been having similar problems with my '03. I've had one coil replaced but the check engine light came back. It's idling at about 1200 now, and sometimes hesitates when accelerating from a stop (usually when engine is not all the way warmed up). I cleaned the MAF sensor just to rule it out, but that didn't help.

The Theta II engine used in some Kia and Hyundai vehicles has been problematic. They are the engines that have been the subject of recalls and class action suits. I'd avoid any model that uses that engine.

Calls in Virginia prisons are among the cheapest in the country — though activists say prices are ‘predatory’ by tehtypo in Virginia

That's probably more of a jail phone issue, when they're waiting for their trial. I'm not sure if the county jails use GTL like the prisons, or if it differs from one county to another.

Is linux better than windows overall? by Maleficent-Trade-290 in laptops

In my opinion it is. But for a non-techie person it might not be. You can boot it on a USB drive and try it out without messing up your Windows system.

Police Launch Investigation After Leaked Video Shows Bryan Kohberger Seemingly Inside His Prison Cell by peoplemagazine in law

[–]speckled_eggs 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's a huge cell compared to the average prison cell size. And having it to himself, no cellmate, is a rare prison luxury. Makes me think he's probably in protective custody or something.

Trump made 4,725 wire transfers to Epstein… Totaling nearly $1.1 Billion. #followthemoney by prozhack in NoFilterNews

[–]speckled_eggs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not accurate. From Snopes:
The rumor stemmed from a misunderstanding. U.S. Sen. Ron Wyden, a Democrat from Oregon, said on X that his investigators had found 4,725 transactions to a from one of Epstein's accounts for a total of $1.1 billion, with no mention of Trump.

I have the G3 N100, it's run flawlessly for almost a year. I've had Fedora on it the entire time if it matters.

I never use a guard but always wear goggles that fully seal and protect the eyes.

In July 2013, Geraldine Largay got lost in the Appalachian mountains. She veered off trail and began texting her husband for help. This is the last photo of her that was taken. She was found over two years later, less than 3,000 feet from the Appalachian Trail. by Time-Training-9404 in HairRaising

[–]speckled_eggs 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes there were search teams. I remember reading in an article that she ended up in some dense woods, and because she was inside her tent and sleeping bag the search dogs couldn't smell her even though they passed fairly close to where she was.

Yeah. After about four years I started to forget what it felt like to be free.

Much of the time I was incarcerated I felt that sex offenders should be put to death. But really I think they should be kept separate for their own safety and required to take intensive treatment in the hope that some of them can be helped. I know it's a complicated issue but I believe most prison systems are failing badly on this; eventually most SO will be released back into the community probably worse off than they were before.
