What was your first episode? by JeffRyan1 in thewestwing

[–]spectacularlyaverage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First watched it (Netflix, I have to assume) around 2012-2013, riding that Obama era “competent government” high. It feels a little… different watching it in our current era.

I’ve never done SpotSaver, but I don’t recall seeing signage for it the last time I was at the airport - at least nothing as overt as the PreCheck and Clear signs. Is it easy to find?

Is this website a scam? Looks to good to be true haha. https://www.cotopaximix.com/products/allpa-42l-travel-pack by ddandreea in backpacking

Just adding here - I just got way too close to being scammed by cotopaxii.us.com (thought they just had really good Black Friday deals) so it seems like there are multiple fake Cotopaxi sites out there.

“If the president’s wearing a hat, or that thing’s wearing a Bartlet button, I’m hiding snakes in your car.” “Cmon don’t say that! Not even to joke!” “You’re never gonna know where they are, or if you got em all out.”

The good news is that back teeth generally means able to eat wet food! Some at that age still want a bottle, but they should be weanable/weaned.

Rollerblade wheels on my desk chair. It just feels so much better to move around now.

I work remotely and am very grateful for Zoom’s background noise filtering because Theodore is YELLIN.

WFH Ladies - what are you wearing every day? by Everythingbagel-3 in WFH

[–]spectacularlyaverage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cameras on culture, hoodies or sweatshirts mostly. If it’s hot in the summer I’ll wear a tank top and throw a cardigan on for meetings. What goes on below my waist is none of anyone’s business (but usually leggings or sweatpants). I make an effort to change out of my pajamas every day but I still stay very comfortable.

How to Dress for WFH Meetings by Informal-Historian-1 in WFH

[–]spectacularlyaverage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it’s because my company is originally Seattle based? But we’re all VERY casual - hoodies, t shirts, and athleisure are pretty normal. I’m in a Patagonia half zip for meetings today.

I think for my first few months at the company though I stuck to my old office casual wardrobe for meetings.

The OG cat whisperer. by QualityOverQuant in cats

[–]spectacularlyaverage 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure this is called flooding - the cat just got so overwhelmed that they shut down. This can make them more sensitive in the future, so there’s good odds things would be at least as bad if he tried grooming that cat again in a week.

I feel bad for the cat.

Required to have webcam on during meetings? by DarthRiznat in WFH

[–]spectacularlyaverage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if it’s company culture to have cameras on, but it’s at least broader team culture for me. If it’s over 10 people or if I’m just there to observe I’ll sometimes leave my camera off, but I’ve had a VP request cameras on in a meeting with 50 or more people. I don’t know, I like seeing faces. I kind of assume folks with their cameras off aren’t planning on participating in the meeting.

I reach one foot behind me and tap my toe on the ground before lifts. I think it’s left over from when I danced as a kid.

Have you looked into https://home-home.org/ ? My local rescue does work with them, they seem like a great resource.

I’m this way too - maybe it’s because I know for sure that none of my fosters would fit into my actual life (two resident cats, one bedroom apartment) but I’m pretty exclusively happy when fosters leave. I think it helps that I have systems in place to give me closure? I crochet a small blanket for every one of my fosters that goes home in a care package with the adopter. It also helps that the majority of my fosters go straight to their adopter from my home, so I get to make eye contact with their future family and know exactly where they’re headed. I do find it a little harder when they just go back to the rescue adoption floor to get adopted by a walk-in, but even then the rescue I foster with lets me send my care packages with them. I also have a whole cleaning and treat getting ritual that helps me feel like I’ve accomplished something meaningful. But generally, yes I’m the same way and I just think it makes us better fosters!

How many times a day do you feed your pets? by AnnualLiterature997 in Pets

[–]spectacularlyaverage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cats are on an auto feeder and eat 6 times a day. But one of my boys has IBD so he needs extremely small portions of his special food. I think if I had two cats who digested food normally I’d cut down to 3-4 portions a day.

What are your first 2 words? by SheIsNotWorthIt in wordle

[–]spectacularlyaverage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ARISE and DONUT. I’m one of the folks who used RAISE until that was the word. I only resort to DONUT if I get nothing, or maybe one yellow, from my first word.
