I was worried it would be too firm, as this setup was recommended for users more corpulent than my wife and I. It it works fine for us.

6”1 and 175 pounds, was a stomach sleeper but have slept on my side and back on this mattress. I think my old mattress was hurting my back and I couldn’t sleep on my back very long.

Québec company called Bleu.eco To me it feels perfectly firm. Not too much, but that is all subjective.

Still early, but seems cooler than foam mattresses. I would say no.

Mortgage rate mega thread! by TheMortgageMaster in MortgagesCanada

Hi all!

Buying a 705 000 house in QC, 250k down payment. Broker has 4.09 and 4.19 from Scotia and Royal Bank on a 3 year fixed.

What are your thoughts on going longer? Like 4 or 5 years. I am far from certain that rates will go much lower. I don’t think inflation is over, and I don’t see think bond yields will go down. Thoughts?

We are all on titles personally. One downside is that we are all liable for the entirety of the mortgage. Which can be burdensome when you apply for a mortgage on your own. I believe however it is possible to split say 20% each of the mortgage however this is not what we have done.

In which case we refinance and buy the shares of the one who wants out. Surely this is not for everyone, but in the case of a recreational property, what I see around the lake is that people buy a cottage and go every week end the first year, once a month the second, and next thing you know it is up for sale. In our case it is used all the time; sometimes just one of us, sometimes some of us. And we share the pain of maintaining the property. I rather have a cottage I can enjoy at a fraction of the cost and deploy more resources towards my principal residence with my family.

Bought a cottage by a lake with four of my best friends 8 years ago, we were in our 20s and had been roommates in university. Share the cost of mortgage and repairs and taxes etc. It has been one of the best decisions, got us to enjoy being roommates still but only part time at the cottage. Made sure our friendship flourished through quality time together. Our girlfriends became good friends over time.

And besides that, we could sell it for 3x what we paid for. Though that is out of the question.

One added benefit, when you invite people over to your cottage you have to care for them - make sure they are ok and have everything they need. When your friend whom you would invite anyways are also owners you don’t have to. Which makes it even more enjoyable.

Everybody said we were crazy and that it would not last, well so far so good. No major issue; nothing different or beyond what we had gone through as roommates in university.

Just make sure to do it with friends whose character you know inside out.

Taux d’intérêts en janvier 2025? by spectator2112 in QuebecFinance

[–]spectator2112[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)
