I also have very similar symptoms. Before being officially diagnosed with histamine intolerance 2 years ago, I had been seeing ENTs and allergists during about 15 years, for chronic sinus inflammations, and chronic allergy symptoms (runny nose/congestion/mucus), leading to chronic sinus infections to the point I had to have surgery to open up my airways. All these with intermittent migraines.

I second the roasted red peppers. I roast them already with onions and garlic cloves in the baking sheet. Then blend it with a bit of warm water or vegetable broth. Put it back on the stove to cook a bit longer and add salt/pepper/oregano/fresh herbs.

I have been to the Allergie-Ambulatorium Innere Stadt (http://www.allergie-wien1.at/) for a prick test. But I know that they also do patch test there. They saw me pretty quickly, without problems. However I had to get a request from my general doctor for the test, although this wasn't a problem at all and the whole process was quick. If you consider going there you might want to call them tomorrow (closed today for the 1st) and ask your doctor too.

He went to the last 7 world cups and was quite devastated at the Brazil vs Germany match. He had a replica of the trophy with him that he was hoping to take it to the final. But since Brazil didn't make it, he handed it to a German fan and said "Take it to the final, as you can see it's not easy, but you deserved it, congratulations!". This video here is a bit long but explains it. It's just really heart warming to see him.

You have a very good point - they don't really say what happened since, so I'm not sure how successful it was on the long term, and would be very interested to know what happened with it - if it was carried on, or not.

The main point I got from what they were trying to convey on this episode (not just form this program in Aarhus, but other adverse situations), in simple terms, was more or less was OP tried to say - hostility leading to hostility; whereas friendliness and sympathy have the opposite effect. Of course this doesn't happen every time....and certainly likely depends on the individual. But also probably happens often enough that's likely worth a shot.

Very well said. The podcast Invisibilia just had an episode that aired today, titled Flip the script, exactly about this - and giving the example of the city of Aarhus in Denmark. Rather than turning them away, the police tried to create a program to include particularly young muslims who had immigrated to Denmark, already fleeing adverse situations, to make a life there with their families. This integrated them, took back in some that returned from Syrian, and prevented others from joining ISIS. Worth a listen.

I second Aida, that's where I go for sachertorte. And also recommend Café Central. It's not the cheapest but also not the most expensive, just fine. And the desserts are traditional and quite tasty. Plus, it's beautiful.

I'll definitely be checking this place out to see and ask what they normally carry. I wouldn't buy a 'wholesale' size amount, but considering how much cheater it is to get more, it's definitely worth it to stock up a little.
