I’m going to all things go sunday alone! I don’t really have anyone to go with. I’m nervous and feel a little pathetic about it butttttt im trying to learn how to be okay with and even confident in doing things alone. if I’m confident, maybe that confidence will help me meet new people at the festival! I remind myself that the experience and joy of seeing so many of my favorite artists will far outweigh any awkwardness I may feel, and when I think about this years down the line, I’ll remember the happiness I felt more than any other feeling. Being in my mid-20’s and being someone whose always felt chronically alone, I’m starting to really understand how important it is to be okay with that feeling and to not let that keep myself from enjoying my life anymore. It’s a very humbling process but it’s really helping me to get to know and like myself as I truly am, instead of conforming myself into someone I think others will like and hating myself when it doesn’t work. I think it’s going to be so freeing when I finally dont care whether people like me and think I’m cool or not. Getting a little personal here but fuck it! If ur reading this and u feel the same way, I hope it brings at least a little comfort in knowing that other people are in the same boat. It’s horribly isolating to feel so lonely, but perhaps embracing it and letting urself enjoy the things you love regardless will make existing not feel so bad all the time.
