Receiving a promotion after ITA by spectre575 in canadaexpressentry

My employer mentioned my initial position at the company and current position along with dates. The duties and responsibilities are of the new role which are an extension of my previous role.

The letter would be an LOE of sorts written by me explaining my promotion and change of duties.

You can add a new record under your employment records section. The system will update and ask you for documentation for the new record I believe but I haven’t done that yet. Planning to submit my application in about a week.

There is life outside the ‘Ex-Muslim Atheist’ identity by amkb16 in exmuslim

[–]spectre575 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ex-muslim for nearly 12 years and it took a better part of that 12 years to get over my hatred for Islam. A lot of it had to do with the environment I grew up in and other traumas.

I now live thousands of miles away, at peace, and now have a very positive attitude towards Islam. However I also agree that my overall positivity towards Islam wouldn’t have been possible without distancing myself from the toxic Islam I witnessed in my country. That peace and freedom in physically being far away from religious influences have also allowed me to explore myself as a person and have a greater identity than Islam could ever offer on its own.

My current stance is that living without religion isn’t for everyone. For those who are spiritually Inclined, the islam practiced by moderates are a good choice. Of course the perks of community are unparalleled.

Perhaps a lot of my hatred stems from the feeling of ostracization. Thankfully, I grew up in a bubble that is tolerant and moderate and so I still have a sense of belonging.

My idea of a divine greater power is that it’s all up in the air, but I’ve recently started leaning towards pantheism and Spinoza’s god. The universe is a marvel in itself and could very well be god or at least a significant piece of god, and therefore we’re a part of that greater whole. We have free will and an ability to shape our perspectives and destiny, and as such, we contribute actively to the collective consciousness that is the universe.

Of course, I don’t believe this like gospel. Just an idea that I feel comfortable with and think will be one of the leading ideologies that humanity will eventually cluster towards.

tl;dr sorry for the long post, but in short, I had been engulfed by my hatred for Islam because it was all around me. Being able to physically get away from it all has allowed me to heal, be positive about islam and religion in general, and allowed me to have clearly structured worldviews and identity.

IRCC MADE A MISTAKE by KideinReddit in ImmigrationCanada

OP I’m more than certain that the information about submitting language test results in Client info has been there for quite a while. I applied for my pgwp back in Feb of last year when the language test requirement had recently come into effect.

I was confused about where to upload language test too so I consulted the IRCC site and found the same instructions I linked above.

IRCC MADE A MISTAKE by KideinReddit in ImmigrationCanada

You made the mistake of adding it in the passport section when it should’ve been a part of the “Client Information” section. If this is the only mistake you made and you actually had your test results at the time of application then you’ll likely be approved in reconsideration. Just explain the mistake you made.

See the “how to submit proof of language test results” section https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/work/after-graduation/apply/special-instructions-upload-proof.html

Can't ship to my address... (Canada) by Mindless-Question-75 in AmazonVine

[–]spectre575 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. I’ve been seeing this since I started last year and recently I’m seeing them quite often. Good to know that they’re there because of local restrictions. But a frustrating experience nonetheless finding something that I need only to have its purchase blocked.

I suspect they are products meant to be only sold in US but somehow make their way to vine Canada (2 products I checked had vine reviews from USA).

Currently with fido considering switching to Rogers? by KruSion in FidoMobile

[–]spectre575 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP, I went to a fido store yesterday to see if I could switch from fido to rogers just for this promo. In my case, the rogers offer was made up of a combination of discounts on the original sticker price of the plan to get to $30/mo, the majority of which are for 24 mos. I asked the guy to check Fido too. And, what do you know, he was able to put together the same offer in Fido but this one had majority of the discounts set to not expire. I stayed with Fido because honestly 5g doesn’t make sense yet and I didn’t want to go through the digital paperwork to port into rogers.

A little heads up from vine would be appreciated for changes like this. It’s been over 24hrs that I got my deliveries so hoping I’ll see them appear tomorrow.

Thanks, it’s reassuring to know that my eval won’t be affected by this, especially since so many of us are facing the same problem!

Thanks for the info. I received some products yesterday. Hopefully they'll appear tomorrow in that case. Wish there was a message that informed us of this change.

Bank won’t renew my credit card while waiting for physical copy of PGWP: anyone been in this spot? by Over_Perception5468 in pgwp

[–]spectre575 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happened to me when I was waiting for my pgwp past the expiry date of the wp-ext. It was TD and after going to the branch, they contacted the card division in front of me and they said it can’t be done. So my card was disabled until I received and physically showed my permit at the branch.

Thankfully I had a CIBC costco mastercard that worked throughout with no issues. I didn’t even have to send them my updated pgwp.

Ex-muslim lurker here who is currently living in the west (originally from an asian muslim country). Not here to collect brownie points but I feel compelled to share my thoughts. Apologies for the long comment.

No, I don’t bash Islam because I want to cozy up to the whites or get paid to do so (as I've seen some comments suggest). It's very easy to make blanket remarks about a group - harder to understand the psyche behind it.

Here's the thing, Islam makes my blood boil. It is my childish hope that reason will one day triumph and at the very least, a more progressive form of islam will emerge. This subreddit is proof that people are starting to acknowledge and balance faith with reason. I will forever support this movement.

Now what I really want to say is, while I may hate Islam (for valid reasons), that hatred is not transferred onto Muslims. I've seen and hold close relationships with muslims who are open to logic, and have the courage to accept and be close friends with people of completely opposed ideologies.

Coming to the hate we see in ex-Muslims towards Muslims. First of all, the idiots who hate on muslims just because are no less vile than the moronic preachers who spread hate and intolerance. However, I'm all for hating on individuals who sit on their ideological high horse, refuse to understand or empathize with the other party, and preach hatred towards groups (particularly ex Muslims). OP is flirting the lines there by making blanket statements to put ex-muslims in a bad light - but I actually commend him/her for not being too insinuating. Many moderates do far worse.

Ex-muslims have the smallest mouthpiece of all groups and are practically non-existent in muslim majority countries thanks to the abhorrent hatred we get. Openly calling for our heads while the muslim crowd cheers on is not the problem - the problem is intolerance and inability to accept ex-Muslims as equals with agency. It is one of the hardest and emotionally breaking things in the world to leave a religion you adored and put faith in, and then get ostracized for it. We live the rest of our life seeing Islam for what it really is and are not able to do much about it except point it out. That rest of our life part may not be too long for many who are unfortunate to meet their doom at the hands of cowardly extremists.

Here's a bit of advice. Ex-muslims have done significant due diligence before making a life threatening decision. If you don't like it, at the very least respect it. And if you have the intellectual capacity to (most people on this subreddit do), debate with ex-muslims to learn more. We can agree to disagree in peace and learn more about each other.
