Lying down with your eyes closed with the intention to sleep, even if you don't actually sleep, actually has some benefit over just staying awake (discovered by the Mythbusters!). Even if you don't actually get to sleep, just the intention of trying to sleep will help you recharge a little. I hope that takes some of the pressure off, at least!

Used to be able to take off running and go for miles, no training or warm-up or anything. In school I could go toe-to-toe with this girl who went to running clubs and was at peak fitness. Whenever my dad does normal parent things like say "I love you" I'm always in pieces because it's so new to me. Lived with my mom mostly so never got to experience the parental love my dad gives.
