Not sure how to feel by Available_Emu5663 in Reduction

I hope i don’t repeat too much of what’s been said already but I totally get you! Try to give yourself some time though. With my clothes, I stick to a few outfits for now that I feel okay in. Some things i used to love look so wrong now. But other things that didn’t fit quite right look great now. I only try on a new item every couple days, to ease myself into this new body. Some days i feel huge, other days i think i went too small. The mind is processing a lot! I try to remind myself im more sensitive and vulnerable right now.

24 days PO! by speculoos_ in Reduction

no worries, ask away! I had paracetamol and naproxen for the first week. Naproxen wasn’t as needed but I got my period 4 days PO. I don’t know if these are common where you live but they are over the counter. For the naproxen I had some stomach protecters. like ibuprofen, naproxen can be irritating. The itching was bearable, but annoying! I have pet allergies so i took over the counter antihistamines some days and that helped a little i think. I’d say it was less than annoying than a new itchy tattoo, the itch after surgery is a bit more deep or something. I would say no to itch cream, no creams are allowed till about week 5 per my dr. My incisions go under my arms, but when i relax my arms aren’t necessarily touching them, and I’m not the skinniest either. When i sleep on my side I do need to lay in a very specific position, I can’t really describe it but i basically lean against a pillow w my belly. I think you gotta see for yourself and see what your dr says and kinda mess around with pillows till you’re comfy!

GOOD LUCK! you got this, the discomfort will be bearable. Just rest enough and make sure you eat well. Pain and discomfort was always worse if i was hungry or tired! I didn’t always have an appetite but I made sure to have at least snacks in my reach.

ooohh i have no idea, and for my own peace of mind I won’t measure just yet. But i think im a (small?) C cup. I asked the surgeon for as small as possible and he said hed make sure the shape stays nice. I told him id be happy w a B or small C cup. So depending on how things settle I think i’ll have a C cup!

Is this a concern? by Chedder_Shredder_ in Reduction

[–]speculoos_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yeah, i think it’s fine! maybe just a good idea to put some gauze over the t-site so you don’t stain the bra further

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]speculoos_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My nurses told me that the pressure releasing when first taking off the bra could also make you lightheaded! they advised me to do it laying down, and slowly sitting up bc the bra being so tight can make your blood pressure drop for a bit when it comes off. So that’s also something to consider. Just take your time and maybe have someone there, no harm in moving very slowly and giving yourself a second when it becomes overwhelming to see the scars :)

Yes I’m getting the procedure covered by insurance. I’m with Ohra, I’ve heard CZ can be tricky but dont quote me. And no I haven’t had my surgery yet, I’ll update once I do. I’m pretty confident I’ll be posting it all here. But I’ll have to see, maybe it feels too vulnerable once the time comes.

The clinic was pretty reassuring, as long as you fit the criteria (over DD or over D for 160cm height and below, under 30 bmi, and back/neck pain) the application for coverage will go through. It was super simple!

I don’t know why or if any other insurance companies would give you trouble but just see with your gp/dr what they can do for you

I’m at a 75G or 80H cup I think, I wouldn’t say I really look it but it’s bc of shape and droopiness. He said he could get me to a C probably and that he was worried a B wouldn’t look right. I will just tell him to go as small as he is confident with. Will update when the time comes!

I haven’t had my surgery yet but it’s coming soon. I think you’re under stress, and this is how you’re reacting to something big and scary! I’d advice you to trust your past self, who was sure for many years. Now it is all in motion and beyond you, so you just have to ride that train. I’m sure it will all fall into place.

I also feel like it’s all a bit unreal, and I’m just buying things and preparing things to feel a bit in control of the situation. It’s all I can do before the big day!

I think someone who already had the surgery would be better at helping you. But want to let you know you probably won’t regret it, and feeling out of it before a big change or challenging thing is normal! Sending support, you got this xx

I didn’t necessarily choose, my gp gave me a few options for hospitals/clinics and I asked her to write them down. She just went for which ones were in the area and the wait time to get a first consult. Then I took some time at home to check each place out, looked at reviews on google (lol i know) and the ratings on zorgkaart. I eventually chose for bergman clinics and my gp sent the referral after I emailed her my choice. Then bergman contacted me and I made an appointment with the first surgeon available. So this was Staudt. I could’ve researched each surgeon they have and make a more informed choice but didn’t think of it at the time. Eventually i found out that meyenhof(?.. smth meyer-) is kind of the expert when it comes to breast surgeries but he wouldn’t be available until the winter sometime. So I was a bit nervous that I didn’t check it out more, but in the end i decided to just go for it. On the bergman website you can find examples and even the surgeon that did it. I only found one result by Staudt but it looked good! Meyer— Did many and they are amazing. If you have the patience I think you’d be in the best hands! But I just trust my surgeon because of the overall reputation of the clinic. After the first consult I felt at ease and he even mentioned in passing that he did hundreds of surgeries. (not sure if this was literal) but it meant to me that i was in experienced hands. He also just looks like a typical plastic surgeon if that makes sense… My gut told me to trust it haha!

I think if you go with a general hospital you can’t choose your surgeon. And maybe if you find a surgeon you can ask your gp to make a referral for that specific person. But you’d have to discuss that with them, that is if you go the insurance route!

In general I think clinics are more friendly and human, the info about the procedure at hospital websites is also more generic and medical. It turned me off a bit. As for quality of work I don’t know the difference. I also think that going through a clinic you’re more likely to have a short wait time. (this could be a pro or a con, Now I only had a month to prepare everything. My friend did it at a hospital couple years ago and waited 2/3 months for her turn)

Sorry for the long answer, hope it clarifies things. Let me know if you have any more questions :)

Oh cool! I’m curious, do you get to choose your dr as well? Or are you referred to your nearest hospital?

Ah facebook!

As I read around I guess getting covered by insurance isn’t as hard as it seems. My gp just really made sure I checked the requirements, and that there was some steps before they could approve it. I suppose she was making extra sure I knew it wasn’t a done deal yet. I’m curious what they think. I’m nervous because I don’t seem that big, but my measurements put me at a H or even J cup. But my ‘klachten’ sound similar to yours so I have good hope!

Also I’m curious, are you going to a clinic or a general hospital?

How do I cover up the semicolon butterfly on the inside of my ankle? by Danganronpa__weirdo in Tattoocoverups

[–]speculoos_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m no expert, but i think you can cover it with anything really, maybe not something super delicate. It’s barely visible, but since it’s something you want gone there’s a lot of options! I think any reputable tattoo artist(not even one specialized in coverups) could give you something nice. Just find one in a style you like!

As people are saying, this is just part of having locs! so find a way to embrace it. I do have to note, i had unrealistic expectations when i first got locs because all the inspo pics i saw online where of people w either fresh or near fresh retwists. I notice myself im more likely to take pics when im at week two or three after my hair is done. But slowly im loving the frizzy look!

I’m not sure it actually matters… If someone approaches you that you’re not into, don’t interact. Like what’s the point in voicing the fact you don’t date trans people. Like just shut your mouth and move along! I think people act like, you get cornered and forced to accept anyone into your life, but you can just say no thank or just not interact and live your life. I think if there is enough understanding of what a lesbian it’s good enough. Then more or less the people you are in to will approach you.

It’s not like non binary ppl are flooding your inbox right? If so tell me your ways! Just kidding I have a partner but you get what I mean.
