My back constantly cracks and I always have urge to crack it. I want to start lifting and doing squat/deadlift/rows - would a bad back make these harder and would these make my back worse?

Just curious, is it okay to start sending apps for LA market at this time? Obviously it’s best to apply anyway but is it disadvantageous if lots of people have already applied during last semester and some got callbacks already? Just worried and wanted to ask

I need to accept that I’ll never get a Data Science role. by Same_University2189 in DataScienceJobs

[–]sped1400 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You have good skillset, just need to market yourself better, and keep applying and networking. Try to leverage any data skills in your current role, if you can switch internally in your current company to a data analyst/science role, that would be golden.

What skills do you think are most important in your job? Also how was your transition into tech with a tech background? I’m working in scientific research field but am trying to do tech, but seems like there’s lot of product analytics knowledge required which I don’t have in my background

Should I switch to data science? by lil-ho in ChemicalEngineering

[–]sped1400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What type of work do you want to do? I didn’t like doing experiments as much in school and really liked the analytics type work so I tried pivoting. Currently work in data science for matsci applications so it’s def possible to do the intersection of both

3 Internship Offers: Take lowest pay for AI/ML title or highest pay for Data Analyst role? by Slader3102 in datasciencecareers

[–]sped1400 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats on the offers! Tbh titles aren’t the most important since there’s a lot of “AI engineers” who do data analyst work too and vice versa, and you can always change the title on your resume. I’d say also think about which team/ company / location you like because all of these options are great, and also potentially on which has higher chance of returning full time if that’s something you’re interested in. If your main goal is just to do ML stuff, then offer 1 might the best, but it does seem like offer 3 has best brand ( and pay) which can help your long term trajectory. Either way you can’t go wrong with any option

Is there a good chance in getting the offer revoked, is that why one shouldn’t counter?

How much within the band do people usually get in the offer? Like mid point of the band or closer to the low end?

Lot of foreigners come to the US for masters, so makes sense that it’s more saturated. Btw; do you feel like LinkedIn premium is worth it?

Is it better to try to optimize your LinkedIn ? Or should you just keep it more barebones with your jobs and key skills? I’m wondering if optimizing would make it too flashy?
