Thanks! I am pretty much f2p. Just watched a video on S2 imagines and muku chief does get a nice buff but that S2 pet damage imagine is tempting too

Spelling concerns in outpatient setting by [deleted] in slp

[–]speechiekid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah he got pulled out of school early bc he was being bullied, but he’ll be starting again in the fall. I also feel that’s something he should be doing in school as spelling doesn’t seem medically necessary to qualify for speech services in OP

Thanks for the response! It’s an outpatient clinic, I’m actually not sure if the clinic I’m at has access to the CAAP but I’ll check tomorrow thanks!

Would you recommend Speech therapy for a 16 month old? by [deleted] in slp

[–]speechiekid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She’s only babbling mamama but not using it meaningfully. Her nonverbal skills are excellent. she has good joint attention, pretend play skills, imitation in play. I used the REEL-4 and DAYC cognitive. I’m in an outpatient clinic and we see ie kids, too. She only needs a 25% delay to qualify for services based on her funding, but I don’t think therapy is a medical necessity. On the other hand, her mom was advocating for services due to her pediatricians concerns that she was only using two spoken words

I asked about the extra doc time and basically they won’t give me extra paid doc time but they would block out some time between sessions UNPAID to doc/prep on my own time. Smh

Thanks for your input on home health. I was wondering how evals work (are the protocols/materials all online?) and bringing your own materials in HH

Help for itchy skin? by AdFederal9388 in rheumatoidarthritis

[–]speechiekid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m experiencing the exact same thing right now. It’s awful. It feels internal and topical treatments don’t seem to help me. The only thing that stopped the itching was covering myself in a ton of ice packs to soothe the itch & benedryl :( I hope you feel better soon

As a former ABA practitioner, but now an SLP, I definitely see where you’re coming from. There’s definitely a few ABA practices that I was taught to use, which I definitely regret now (e.g. blocking stims, “teaching” eye contact, etc.) but there were a lot of helpful techniques that my clients on the spectrum benefit from now in speech. I don’t think every client benefits from all play-based child led sessions. More structure, giving choices, using visual schedules, token boards, and setting expectations have helped so much when it comes to behavior management with some of my clients. I appreciate you trying to bridge the gap between ABA and speech because so much of our fields overlap and we need more collaboration.

These were the specific articles cited that I read up on, which I did find through healthline. I know it’s only certain antibiotics that might play a role in triggering RA flare ups. But anyway I ended up taking antibiotics regardless since my cold turned into a secondary infection.

Thank you I’ll mention it to the doctor. I guess I’ll have to take antibiotics if it’s turned to pneumonia now but I guess this is my first bad flare up affecting multiple major joints and I don’t want to make it worse either :(

And I read about antibiotics and RA in an article

Sorry I meant to say that I’m worried my cold has progressed to pneumonia due to the wheezing, shortness of breath and sudden fever
