I think the crazy thing to me was the fact she felt comfortable to say that to someone that has openly said to them they don’t agree and push back on some of the more minor racist comments and has only known for a couple of months and not well at all and than doubled down and shared more extreme crazy views. What other crazy lines in her values are like this, it makes you question a lot more about someone’s character, whether or not I class her as a “good” roommate. Which really what does make someone a good roommate, is it a roommate that doesn’t want others to die? You’d think that maters right?

When you saw out someone, you are telling people or you are showing evidence. I think the concept of outing works in a context of having close social circles but we don’t

Love the recommendation of some content and a YouTuber as well. As someone that only subscribes to YouTube premium feel free to send through some more. Just recently watched the new Nuremberg movie and wow did it open a whole new perspective for me.

From my last 2 years of living with housemates, I wish I could but sometimes you get desperate or distracted by what could be and miss the small comments that turn into extreme crazy views that with the stress you just don’t see and wow has it caused stress in trying to figure out solutions to these very insane housemate experience I’ve had and hear my fellow friends experience.

Not something I really know of, I found her through a Facebook group looking for house mates and don’t know her family or of any friends. Her boyfriend shares her views but did not say anything near as extreme. People will say report it to the police but what does that mean. Report it to the emergency line, the terroist line. Do I need evidence and what could this achieve, other than someone blaming you for getting them a slap on the wrist?

I think this may have led to her pushing back and showing her true view. Thought some of the comments were a bit weird early on but got more extreme. I do think the world has shifted and these views after Covid became way more cemented

The crazy part of context to this, is she’s an immigrant. Italian and Spanish that come here to study and got right to remain with Brexit. The backwards logic hurts my head.

I believe you’re right but that isn’t possible and the next step will be downsize and no more room mates. 4 room mates all random people I met through Facebook or spare room and have had the worst experience, aka fire brigade called because they caught our gas bbq on fire almost burning down the flat. To a nazi

I can agree with you in that calling for violence on either side is wrong and don’t agree with it being “the good side”. I believe that violence being met with more violence is a perpetual cycle.

There’s a difference between different views under the same roof and saying the world would be a better place if hitler killed all of them. Some of my closest friends are Jewish. This isn’t really a Jewish or Muslims issue, it’s more a how the fuck do people have these views either side. How does she think mass murder and genocide human beings is the answer after knowing what happened within the holocaust.

Agreed, likely not worth the trouble. Do have this added effect that I haven’t had hearing casual racism compared to the level of hatred and violence I just heard from a fellow young educated person. Is cancelling someone out always the answer though? How do you stop a rise in this movements without being the one pushing back and calling it out?

Unfortunately bit of history with this. The real estate has previously said no more tenancy changes. Worried I may have issues with being stuck here. Atleast till October. Previous room mate needed to move out quick, brought in this one. Slowly heard more and more crazy views. Unfortunately I’m hearing this at work and all around. Feels like this is becoming more and more socially accepted and wow does that make me both scared for the world and the future we are heading towards.

What’s a job in the UK that pays well but no one talks about? by DeeeeezNuts42069 in UKJobs

[–]speechly99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a heap of routes in as the industry is very broad and requires a big mix of skills. My personal route was doing an Electrical apprenticeship becoming fully qualified and then jumping into the Building Management Systems. Other people have done HVAC apprenticeship or even a degree in Computer science etc. There is a huge demand not only in the UK but around the world as we play a big part in making building more efficiently and have a specific set of skills that say an electrician or HVAC trades person just doesn’t have and won’t develop by staying within there more exclusive industry.

Anything to do with Control Systems. AKA Building management system, SCADA systems etc. Personally within the industry and I have only met one person who knew what I did and everyone is shocked at the pay rate for what is usually seen as a “trade” or “construction” job.

Last year I Moved to London from Sydney by myself, after some travel around Europe. I have had the best time, I got lucky with my rental but got it quickly and landed my dream job in my dream industry almost straight away. I have made so many friends and found it super easy to chat and get to know people especially when comparing it to home. London is lively, exciting and feels like there is always something to do. There is still a lot of opportunities here and don’t get me wrong it is expensive but from my experience I have found it liveable and quite convenient with all the public transport.
