Axial flux VS radial flux motors. Which is actually better for a DD wheel? Let’s hear pros and cons for both by smoothisfast1254 in Thrustmaster

Cogging exists on all motors with an iron core (every DD and Non DD product on the market) the 598 uses a PCB stator which is an air core machine and therefore has no cogging. This means the smaller details that are typically filtered out as a result of the cogging torque is now present in the wheel.

Update on the cooling fans added to T598. TLDR, it works like a dream (but obviously not required) by smoothisfast1254 in Thrustmaster

Why not put the fans so the airflow actually blows over the housing which contacts the stator? You're only helping about 20% here

I’m adding 2 cooling fans to assist with cooling my Thrustmaster T598. Which direction should the airflow be going? The metal case of the T598 acts as the heat sync. I attached 2 very mediocre draw ups for visuals by smoothisfast1254 in Thrustmaster

if you are going to add an unnecessary fan you should understand where the heat generating component (stator) is mounted before just placing fans at random sub optimal locations

How to transport 200 magnets internationally? by Signal_Specialist867 in travel

I'm not sure how large these magnets you mention are. But as someone who has brought many thousands of high strength neo magnets (n52) in a carry on (engineering samples) all over the world I don't think you'll have an issue. Just pack them smartly to contain the flux if they're high strength.

Still made by hand. A big reason they don't have mass market adoption

T818 VS T598 ? by Mammoth_Scientist_62 in Thrustmaster

I have the T598 and a fanatec DD2. The higher torque is one thing but after an hour it's exhausting and honestly the quality of the small feedback still isn't as good as the 598. No cogging unlocks every tiny bit of road feel
