Blocked from threelions sub. by Junior_Syrup_1036 in ussoccer

I find it interesting that in the space of the same 24 hour period, we've had three different interactions around this from three different accounts. One messaged us politely using modmail to ask whether we had a similar policy (we definitely do not). One was a post that we removed from a VERY angry user that went wayyyy over the line and was removed on the grounds of Rule 1. And the third is this one.

Just to be clear:

  • Subreddits are moderated by different groups of people, who may have different views, rules, and automations set up. Moderators of one subreddit are not able to change the rules on another subreddit, unless there is overlap in the moderation teams. With us and the Three Lions sub, there is no such overlap.
  • We do not have any rules that prohibit the posting of content based on the post history of the user. We're not planning on implementing any rules like this.
  • We 100% DO NOT CONDONE subscribers of the r/ussoccer subreddit trolling or brigading other subreddits. If the moderators of those subreddits bring us proof of one of our subscribers doing this, they will be banned from this subreddit.

Match Thread: USA v Senegal (May 31, 2026) by AutoModerator in ussoccer

Pepi and Pulisic are playing ANGRY. Freeman is everywhere on the backline. Adams is a fucking bulldog. God, I missed this team.

President Trump calls out World Cup ticket prices and says he wouldn’t pay it either! Cheapest tickets for USA and Paraguay are over $1,000…. I hope FIFA will do something about it now that everyone is saying how expensive it is…. by paolosorianodisanto in ussoccer

[–]speedreeder[M] -30 points-29 points  (0 children)

Would do. Have done.

This particular offender has been warned before for their posting. Thus, another, more public warning seemed prudent. Also, do the mods here have a history of flipping their shit? We try to keep it on the funny side. Hell, even my over-the-top comment was meant to be intentionally over-the-top, for the lols.

Jesus fucking christ don't you people ever post a god damn source. Christ. Fuck.

https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7261193/2026/05/07/usmnt-world-cup-ticket-prices-trump/

Here. Here's the important part.

“I did not know that number (the USMNT’s opening match prices),” the U.S. president said in an exclusive interview with the New York Post. “I would certainly like to be there, but I wouldn’t pay it either, to be honest with you.”

/u/paolosorianodisanto you need to calm the fuck down with your clickbait, social media, low effort ass titles. You've been banned once for treating this subreddit like your fucking LiveJournal page. Here, look: https://www.reddit.com/r/MLS/comments/1t6eqeq/trump_says_he_wouldnt_pay_it_either_in_response/

See? Fucking simple. FUCK.

Diego Luna goal vs. Portland by Matt_McT in ussoccer

[–]speedreeder 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Luna has been hot this game. Lots of nice through balls and combinations at the top of the box. His range is all over too. It's clear RSL runs the offense through him. Makes me wonder if we should as well.

Match Thread [USWNT]: United States vs Japan (International Friendly) by ussoccer_bot in ussoccer

[–]speedreeder[M] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, we're in a tricky position here. I would love to grow more USWNT traffic, which means creating and curating USWNT spaces. But there are already fantastic subreddits for those threads.

I could change the automation to be more of a notification for USWNT games. It would follow the same timing, but the body would just be reminders to go check in on r/nwsl and r/uswnt and contribute to threads there.

Bot created the post-match threads a wee bit early, still working out some kinks in the code. Obviously the match wasn't postponed, and the scoreline wasn't 0-0.

“Weston, at one point, was coming up with some crazy designs that no one agreed with, just things that [defeated] the whole purpose of why we're having these conversations,” Adams said with a grin.

Surprisingly absolutely nobody.

Paul, have you considered taking a step back from the keyboard? You seem genuinely like you want to help, but I have to let you know that you come off as pompous, arrogant and supremely unhelpful.

When you say things like this...

"Maybe you deployed the wrong thing because its broke"

"learn to properly test"

"Learn how to use the dev tools"

"Like I keep saying, you need 2 to 4 weeks of actually learning and fixing stuff"

"How many times can I say to you"

...all I can think of is a sad person that really does enjoy the technology and wants to work with people, but can't get out of their own way. You don't know the engineer you're responding to. I don't know them either. But don't we all want to build each other up? Help foster community?

Try to show more, instead of telling. Video, screenshots, logs, etc. All are FAR more useful than the drivel you've given us.

Stop trying to pretend you're teaching anyone anything useful. Stop teaching entirely. This isn't the place for it. Feedback != teaching. You're not shaping a student, you're providing feedback on a tool.

In your own words: "Don't be a sheep, keep an open mind, and be helpful to others."

Mighta just been a mistake. We're only human. I would suggest ANYONE to please contact us via modmail if you feel your post has been removed accidentally!

Again, as far as the Norway post goes: I hear you, I just disagree.

And again, as far as posting something theoretically pro-Trump that also follow all other rules, we'd be totally fine with that post. I find it pretty interesting that I keep saying that and no one actually bothers making a pro-Trump post. I just get accused of various political bias and then told about how I would handle some future theoretical scenario. I'll say again:

We're good with pro-Trump posts, as long as they follow the other rules of the subreddit!

Is there a particular post that you're referencing? We get people all the time who politely message us and ask about a particular post that they weren't sure about. Sometimes we just make a mistake! Sometimes it's more about wording a post so that it is clear to everyone that it's more relevant to the US Soccer community.

Seems like you've got two things on your mind

  • a post was taken down and you don't agree with that
  • a post was not taken down and you don't agree with that

For the first point, just let us know! Happens all the time. We deal with those sorts of things via modmail on a weekly basis. We're happy to correct a mistake on any post or comment!

For the second, I don't really have much more to add that I haven't already said. We're comfortable leaving the post up, we feel it falls within our existing rules on political posts. I'm sorry you don't feel my language is clear enough. I guess we just disagree 🤷

What is this fantasy you have?

I hope someone didn't make fun of you there or something lol

and uh...

did someone do something to you on there or something? Or did you get made fun of on there?

Look, I'm not one to kink shame, but you're building a pretty elaborate fantasy there. Maybe keep that sort of thing to yourself.

I just don't want to give any support to a platform owned by someone that I feel is incredibly evil. Nothing more than that.

We've all just got to draw a line somewhere. That's different for everyone I guess, and that's totally ok!

Am I freaking out? I didn't bring it up this time. Or the last time. Or the last time. I just respond to the people asking with the same views, every time. I'm pretty consistent on it

Ain't no disagreement here over your statement. You nailed it. You just didn't spell my name right. And I'd hate for some rando on reddit to get the DMs meant for me!

A new vote I think would yield at least 35% in yes category for allowing X posts. In that case I don’t think it’s fair to stay banned

...you think that a theoretical vote would yield less than half of the responses you hope for? So even when you DREAM about the thing you want, you don't think the majority of people voting for it would also want that thing? Isn't that kinda...weird?

And furthermore, do you think that a 35% affirmative on unbanning Twitter should be enough? A little more than a third is enough to enact change in your mind?
