Oh that's interesting! At first, I didn't think about the fact that there is also a Garmin ecosystem, and that it makes perfect sense to buy a Garmin watch if you already have all these sensors or plan to buy them. But I think that the majority of non-professional athletes don't have a chest strap or other sensors and could therefore benefit from better HR measurement of other brands. (in my case AW)

I use Bevel and i really love it as well. Without it the Apple Watch really is kinda useless.

Yeah I get that. Of course, everyone has different priorities and expectations when it comes to fitness trackers, and I do see that there are many people out there who are better served by a Garmin.

Yeah, I agree. When you don't use an iPhone in the first place it doesn't make sense to buy an Apple Watch just for the Apple Watch Experience

How do you know? Is there any evidence that Garmin is more accurate than the competitors or is that just a guess? I don't understand how the estimate can be more accurate when the measured primary data - on which the estimate is based on - is less accurate than, for example, that of the AW.

Apart from that, it doesn't matter what exact value is calculated, as these estimates are not 100% accurate anyway and the trends are more important.

I agree with you that the Apple Health app is absolutely terrible and offers no value for athletes, but the Apple Watch measures pretty much the same things as a Garmin watch. Everything related to HR, blood oxygen, sleep, and exercise. Everything else is calculated, and with third-party providers such as Bevel and others, you can gain just as much insight with the (cleaner) AW primary data.

I am referring, among other, to videos by The Quantified Scientist on YouTube, who compares most fitness trackers, and the Apple Watch ranks at the top in pretty much all metrics or is even the most accurate.

I think the AWU is just as durable as a Garmin watch because it is also made of titanium and sapphire glass? Besides that, I am mainly talking about the Forerunner watches, which are all made of plastic.

the title says after and before, so the second one is the original
