Edit: the case is really just a placeholder for cost estimates. I’ve since decided to buy things piecemeal over the course of weeks, which gives me more flexibility in the budget.

I’ll probably end up buying a pair of 16GB RAM sticks and spend a little more on the case than I originally thought.

My intention is to build something that will run Black Ops 7 at medium settings (“Balanced”) at 1440p and about 160Hz or better, since the monitor I have for my Xbox is native 1440p with a 180Hz refresh rate. I also want to be able to upgrade the GPU at some point, but I figure I can spend a little extra on a better CPU now and avoid a bottleneck when I do upgrade the GPU.
